The Popular Resistance Committees terrorist organization threatened Israel on Tuesday, warning it that any harm to the Al-Aqsa mosque would “open the gates of hell against the Zionist enemy.”

In a statement the organization issued, it stressed its commitment to protecting the dignity of the mosque, which it claimed is being “contaminated by the Zionists”, through the masses of the Islamic nation which has started waking up and meeting its religious commitment towards “Palestine” and towards the Al-Aqsa mosque. CNN Reports: US offers Egyptian army intel for its Sinai battles

Israel Electric Corporation completes steam & gas power plant ahead of schedule

Addition of 125 megawatts will help bridge gaps in dwindling reserves, says IEC CEO Glickman.

 

A month ahead of schedule, the Israel Electric Corporation has completed work and grid synchronization of a 375-megawatt combined-cycle power plant.

The plant, called the Zafit power station, is located near Kfar Menahem in the country’s south-central region, and will significantly increase electricity generation to help deal with the ever-dwindling electricity reserves, according to the IEC. The combined-cycle plant contains a 125- megawatt steam unit that the company added to an already existing 250- megawatt natural gas turbine facility, and was constructed at a cost of NIS 1 billion. The cell’s members were arrested before they could carry out their plans. Weapons were also found in the course of one of the arrests.

A group of pro-Palestinian activists expressed “shock and dismay” Sunday at the addition of journalist and board member of Act for Israel Joshua Treviño to the British daily The Guardian’s US commentary team.

In a letter to the Guardian’s editor, signed by Sarah Colborne, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, along with other heads of pro-Palestinian organizations and individuals ranging from academics to actors, the activists accused Treviño of urging the Israeli army to murder US citizens, citing a message Treviño posted on Twitter in 2011: “Dear IDF: If you end up shooting any Americans on the new Gaza flotilla – well, most Americans are cool with that.

Larraín, who served as Chile’s ambassador to Israel since January 2011, was well respected in the diplomatic community. Diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia, he underwent aggressive treatment in Chile and was sent back to Israel, where he was admitted at the medical center in Tel Hashomer last month, at the advice of his Chilean doctors. Egypt stationed Anti-Aircraft Missiles in the Sinai

According to a report on Voice of Israel government-sponsored radio, Egypt has moved anti-aircraft missiles into the Sinai Peninsula.

The radio station’s Arab affairs analyst, Eran Zinger, reported Saturday that Egypt has deployed both anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles near Israel’s border in the Egyptian Sinai, without Israel’s permission.

Such equipment is prohibited in Sinai by the Egypt-Israel peace treaty. “Egypt is trying to change the situation in Sinai,” Zinger said.

If the report is true, the move is an overtly hostile one toward Israel and can only mean that Egypt is preparing for hostilities with the Jewish state. Continue Reading »

Israel Asks Egypt to Recall its Armor from Sinai

Israel said that the deployment of armored forces in the EL Arish area was only reported to it retroactively by Egypt, after the forces had already been deployed.
