Egypt destroyed, flooded with sea water or sewage, 37 tunnels from Gaza in 2018

The Egyptian army began destroying Hamas’ tunnels from Gaza following the September 2013 coup, that saw the ousting of Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi, who became President after being busted out of an Egyptian prison by hundreds of armed militants who entered Egypt via the Gaza tunnels.

The Egyptian military destroyed 37 cross-border tunnels linking the Gaza Strip to the Sinai Peninsula over the past year, the country’s military has announced.

Egypt has in the past flooded Hamas tunnels along the Gaza Strip with sea-water or sewage, and has destroyed hundreds of homes on the Egyptian side of Rafah to remove the tunnels. Continue Reading »

REVEALED: NYT reports Israeli jets hit over 100 ISIS targets in Sinai

Although the Israeli Air Force operations were coordinated with Egyptian authorities, officials from Jerusalem and Cairo refused to confirm the New York Times report.

NEW YORK – Egypt has allowed Israel to conduct more than 100 air strikes in northern Sinai in an effort to root out terrorists affiliated with Islamic State, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

For more than two years, unmarked Israeli drones, helicopters and jets have carried out a covert air campaign in the area with the approval of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who has struggled to contain the deadly threat in the restive peninsula, according to the report. REPORT: One Dead after Israel retaliates for ISIS rocket fire with UAV attack

 

Following yesterday’s Islamic State rocket fire on Southern Israel, Arab media reports of an unidentified drone strike on a home & car in Rafah, Sinai, killing one.
– IDF has had no comment on the foreign reports.

Following rocket fire directed at communities in the Eshkol Regional Council Monday morning, Arab media outlet Al Jazeera reported that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacked a house in southern Rafah, killing one person.

ISIS rocket fired from Sinai explodes in greenhouse in Southern Israel

 

REPORT: According to an ISIS linked news agency Amaq, the Islamic State took responsibility for the rocket that activated the ‘color-red’ alert sirens in the Eshkol region, and landed inside a greenhouse, only causing considerable damage. No injuries reported.

Egyptian army continues to destroy Hamas terror-tunnels on its Gaza border

 

Egypt continues to deal with chaos in the Sinai, destroying Hamas smuggler tunnels connecting to Gaza and now the Coptic Church says Christians are fleeing northern Sinai for their safety.

The Egyptian military says it has discovered and destroyed weapons smuggling tunnels in the northern Sinai Peninsula, next to the Gaza border.

A military spokesperson told Egyptian media outlets that one tunnel, dug some 20 meters (66 feet) underground, branched out into three different tunnels.

Oxygen tanks and communication technology cables were found in the tunnels.

IDF Preparing for Highly Likely ISIS Sinai Attack

 

Knowing ISIS has amassed a considerable terrorist force in Egypt’s Sinai, Israel’s defense establishment is certain it will inevitably attack the Jewish state, so the IDF has taken steps to neutralize any such surprises.

Who would have believed? – Israel, Egypt & Hamas, together against ISIS in Sinai

 

Last week, Hamas deployed 300 hundred combatants along the Gaza-Sinai border, working with Egypt to prevent ISIS terrorists from breaching into coastal enclave.

Islamic State’s Egyptian affiliate, referred to as Wilayat Sinai, is well equipped with weaponry and has been plotting more sophisticated attacks since taking responsibility for the October bombing of a Russian charter plane which killed all 224 passengers aboard.

Pentagon considers automating jobs of US peacekeeper MFO Sinai force

 

U.S. military command notifies Israel & Egypt that it is reviewing whether to incorporate remote surveillance technology into its MFO unit in the Sinai Peninsula, allowing the Pentagon to withdraw some of its observation force.

The U.S. military said on Tuesday it has formally notified Egypt and Israel that it is reviewing whether to automate aspects of multinational peacekeeping operations in the insurgency-wracked Sinai Peninsula, potentially allowing a reduction in American troop deployments.

U.S. officials, speaking to Reuters on condition of anonymity, said using remote surveillance technology could eventually allow the United States to withdraw hundreds of its roughly 700 peacekeeping troops.

Egyptian Air Force planes have in recent months crossed into Israeli airspaces part of Egypt’s military campaign against the local Sinai affiliate of the Islamic State terror group, Ynet learned on Tuesday.

The unprecedented flights, apparently conducted in coordination with the IDF, were conducted mostly in the triangular border area between Israeli territory, Egyptian land, and the southern Gaza Strip.

Bodies of 15 African Migrants Discovered Near Israel’s Border By Egyptian Police

 

In attempting to come to the Jewish State through Egypt’s Sinai desert, 15 African migrants were shot dead near Israel’s border by unknown assailants.

The bodies of 15 African migrants were found Sunday by Egyptian police near the country’s border with Israel, according to security sources. Another eight migrants were reportedly found injured.

Israeli Expert: Egyptian Forces ‘Unsuccessful’, IDF May Have to Engage ISIS

Israeli political analysis & ex-ambassador believes the IDF will have to beat ISIS, since the Egyptians are unable do it.

Israel’s former ambassador to Egypt, Zvi Mazel, currently a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA), believes that the Egyptian army is not going to be able to successfully fight ISIS. In the end, he believes, the IDF is going to have to do the job.

Sky News Arabic Reports: Egyptian army kills Hamas commander with jihadists in Sinai

Asharq Al-Awsat, a London-based newspaper, also claimed a Hamas commander had been killed in clashes between Egyptian security forces and jihadist militants in the Sinai.

A commander of Hamas’ military wing – the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades – was reportedly killed Wednesday by an Egyptian army strike in the Sinai Peninsula, Sky News in Arabic reported.

Abdallah Saeed Kashta, 25, died during a raid carried out by Egyptian forces against Islamic State-linked Welayat Sinai group.

Islamic terror attack kills dozens of Egyptian troops in Sinai

 

At least 25 Egyptian soldiers were killed with dozens more wounded by a car bomb that targeted a Sinai security checkpoint near Gaza border.

 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi convened an emergency meeting of his senior defense advisers on Friday just hours after a deadly terrorist attack claimed the lives of at least 25 soldiers in the Sinai Peninsula.
