China, which has refused to buck Iran and Syria, now goes to bat for the Arab world and warns that Mitt Romney’s pro-Jerusalem remarks could even “reignite a war between Palestinians and Israelis.”

The presumptive Republican presidential candidate stated in his visit to Israel Sunday and Monday that Jerusalem is the country’s capital, a designation the international community does not accept because of the Arab world’s opposition.

In interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Romney says Jerusalem & Ramallah must find a way to negotiation borders; adding issue of settlements will be ‘discussed in private’ between the allies.

WASHINGTON – GOP’s presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Monday that he supports the two-state solution, in that Israel and the PA should be the ones to decide their future borders, sans external intervention by a third party.

In an interview with CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” taped during Romney’s visit to Israel this week, the republican candidate was asked about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Senior Palestinian official Saeb Erekat said on Monday that presumptive Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s assertion that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital is “absolutely unacceptable.”

In a speech in Jerusalem on Sunday evening that followed a day of meetings with Israel’s leaders, Romney said it was a “moving experience to be in Jerusalem,” and described the city as “Israel’s capital.” He suggested that he would move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem if he were elected president.
