Israel’s Culture Minister clashes with Joint List bill to promote Nakba Day, reminding the Arab Knesset members, ‘You would not want to live anywhere else in the Middle East.’

The Knesset plenum held a debate on the bill proposed by MK Ahmed Tibi (Joint Arab List) to hold an official memorial day in Israel for the Nakba (translated: ‘Catastrophe’), when the Arab nations failed in their attempt to destroy the nascent Jewish State in 1948.
Culture Minister Miri Regev, who spoke in response to the bill on behalf of the government, slammed the Arab Knesset members and accused them of hypocrisy. Continue Reading »
