The decision by party leader Avigdor Lieberman to place Ayalon so low on the list meant the latter would not be a member of the next Knesset.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman flew to the Austrian capital of Vienna on Friday to meet with Israel’s ambassadors to European Union countries to discuss the Palestinian Authority’s plan to imminently seek an upgrade of its U.N. status to that of an “observer state.”

Israel cannot make peace with the Palestinian Authority while it is led by Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said. Lieberman spent his time at the United Nations General Assembly last week meeting with dignitaries from around the world and – despite previous backlash – told them that Abbas is the primary obstacle to peace.

With Kadima’s withdrawal from the coalition final, all eyes are on Avigdor Lieberman‘s Yisrael Beiteinu which is now Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s senior coalition partner again.

Lieberman: Israel ready to provide aid to wounded Syrians

FM says Israel willing to supply Syrians wounded in uprising against Assad ‘all humanitarian aid at any minute it is requested.’

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Friday that Israel is ready to help treat Syrians wounded in the uprising against President Bashar Assad.

A Friday statement from Lieberman’s office quotes him as saying that Israel is willing to provide wounded Syrians “all humanitarian aid at any minute it is requested.”

Lieberman’s spokesman Tzachi Moshe says Israel would provide the aid through the United Nations or other international organizations. The aid would be purely humanitarian, and Israel would not get involved in Syria’s affairs.
