European court overturns France in prosecution of Israel boycott cases

The EU human rights court rules the French arrest & conviction of 12 BDS activists in 2010 over distribution of handbills calling for boycott of Israeli goods, ‘lacked any relevant or sufficient grounds’.

The European Human Rights Court (EHCR) ruled on Thursday that a French criminal conviction against activists involved in a campaign to boycott products imported from Israel had no sufficient grounds and violated their freedom of expression.

MLB cuts all Roger Waters’ tour promotions over antisemitic bias

Major League Baseball agrees to Jewish advocacy groups’ concerns, ends all associations on its platforms with Pink Floyd frontman over his support of the anti-Israel boycott, divestment, sanctions movement.

Major League Baseball will not schedule any more advertising on its platforms promoting music artist Roger Waters.

The leadership of the Jewish advocacy organization B’nai B’rith International sent a letter to baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred last month criticizing the sport’s involvement in ticket sales for Waters’ “This is Not a Drill” tour. MLB.com was among the organizations sponsoring ticket pre-sales.

Palestinian descent U.S. Congress member Rashida Tlaib announced she will not be visiting Israel, despite the approval of her request to enter in order to visit her grandmother after an earlier decline due to her support of BDS.

Earlier Friday, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri approved Tlaib’s request to enter the country after she sent him a letter Thursday night saying she will respect the Israeli law and will not work to promote a boycott on the country during her visit. Continue Reading »

Israel Law Center filed motion barring Ilhan Omar from entering Israel

Shurat Hadin’s president Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, filed a motion with the Jerusalem District Court requiring Interior Minister Aryeh Deri prohibit Omar from entering the country congruent with the requirements of Israel’s anti-BDS laws.

An Israeli NGO has asked a Jerusalem Court to bar US Representative Ilhan Omar from visiting Israel.

Shurat Hadin, also known as the Israel Law Center, filed a motion Tuesday to the city’s District Court requiring that the Interior Minister Aryeh Deri does not allow Omar to enter the country because of her support for the BDS movement.

US Rep. Tlaib defends BDS, blasts ‘racist’ Israel

Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib once again expressed support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and accused the Israeli government of “racist policies”.

The comments by the Muslim congresswoman from Michigan were made on Sunday in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Anti-Israel lawyer jailed for racist rant on Air India flight, found dead

The 50 yr-old rabid anti-Israel Irish lawyer/activist who was jailed for 6 months after a drunken, racist incident onboard an Air India flight to London has been found dead on an English beach.

A disgraced anti-Israel activist from Britain who was jailed for staging a rowdy and racist scene aboard an airplane was found dead in what police are treating as a suicide.

The lifeless body of Simone Burns, 50, also known as Simone O’Broin, was found last month on a beach, the Daily Telegraph reported Thursday. Sussex Police confirmed her death “is not being treated as suspicious” and next of kin have been informed, the report said. Continue Reading »

Irish BDS activist awarded 6 months jail for racist tantrum on flight

Simone O’Broin, 50, a Northern Irish barrister and BDS activist, was sentenced to 6 months in prison for her racist, drunken assault and threatening an Air India crew with a boycott.

A British activist promoting boycotts against Israel was sentenced to six months in jail for her drunken racist tirade on an Air India flight.

Simone O’Broin was filmed on the flight last November threatening to organize a boycott against Air India unless flight attendants served her more wine on the flight, that ended with her arrest.
