London: Armed assailant arrested for trying to behead Jewish man

In the latest rash of violent anti-Semitic attacks in London this week alone, a knife-wielding suspect was running, yelling, ‘I’m going to chop off your head,’ as the Orthodox Jewish man ran for his life.

An Orthodox Jewish man was threatened with beheading after he was confronted by a knife-wielding man in London Monday.

The incident occurred in the Whitechapel section of London Monday morning, when a 34-year-old man accosted an Orthodox Jewish man in his 40s who was walking down the street to his place of work.

Pro-Palestinians dismayed at the ‘Guardian’ hiring of Treviño

Pro-Palestinian activists express “shock & dismay” in letter to paper’s editor of newly appointed author’s alleged “incitement to murder” written in a past Twitter comment.

A group of pro-Palestinian activists expressed “shock and dismay” Sunday at the addition of journalist and board member of Act for Israel Joshua Treviño to the British daily The Guardian’s US commentary team.

In a letter to the Guardian’s editor, signed by Sarah Colborne, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, along with other heads of pro-Palestinian organizations and individuals ranging from academics to actors, the activists accused Treviño of urging the Israeli army to murder US citizens, citing a message Treviño posted on Twitter in 2011: “Dear IDF: If you end up shooting any Americans on the new Gaza flotilla – well, most Americans are cool with that.

A planned bomb attack on Jewish sites in the English city of Manchester was foiled when the husband-and-wife team behind the plot became embroiled in a domestic dispute, prosecutors said in a case that led to the wife’s conviction Thursday.

Prosecutor Bobbie Cheema told Manchester Crown Court that police were called when 33-year-old Mohammed Sajid Khan and his 38-year-old wife Shasta got into an argument at their home last July.

Shasta’s family was drawn into the squabble, and at one point the dispute got physical, with Mohammed assaulting his father-in-law. Continue Reading »

Anti-Israel Activists Target Queen’s 60th Anniversary Diamond

BDSers have demanded that Queen Elizabeth decline 60th anniversary diamond because of its affiliation with supporters of Israeli soldiers.

Supporters of the Boycotts, Divestments and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel have demanded that Queen Elizabeth decline the 35.60 karat diamond placed in the Tower of London to mark her 60 years on the throne because of its affiliation with the Steinmetz family, staunch supporters of Israeli soldiers.

Protests fail to disrupt Habimah’s London show

Israel’s national theater performs Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice; pro-Israel groups organize counter-protest.

LONDON – Habimah appeared at London’s world famous Globe Theater on Monday despite protests, after anti-Israel activists failed to persuade organizers to cancel their performance in an international festival celebrating William Shakespeare’s work.

Israel’s national theater was performing a Hebrew version of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice on Monday and Tuesday. Both performances are sold out.

There was a strong police presence outside the theater Monday evening to prevent any disturbances after anti-Israel groups called for protesters to demonstrate because Habimah “entertains colonists illegally settled on Palestinian land.”
