IAF Strikes Seven Terror Targets in Gaza

50 rockets fired into Israel in 24 hours, IAF responds by striking terror targets in Gaza.

IAF aircraft struck a terror target in northern Gaza early Wednesday morning, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced in a statement.

The statement said direct hits were identified and all aircraft returned safely to their bases.

Overnight Tuesday, IAF aircraft struck six terror targets throughout Gaza.

The Israel Air Force struck targets in northern Gaza Strip Monday. Palestinian sources said two Islamic Jihad terrorists were killed in the attack.

According to Palestinian reports, the two were targeted while riding a motorcycle near northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.

The IDF confirmed targeting a sniper cell, saying that the operation was unrelated to Monday’s terror attack on the Israel-Egypt border, and came in response to recent sniper fire. Continue Reading »

IDF Retaliates After Deadly Kidnapping Attempt, Mortar Fire

IDF fire killed 4 members of a Gaza rocket launching cell, and wounded four others, as tensions in the Gaza belt region escalate.

 

The IDF shortly after noon on Friday identified a terror squad in Gaza preparing to fire rockets into Israel and scored a direct hit.

The Bethlehem-based Maan News Agency said four people were killed and four were wounded in the attack.

The strike came less than an hour after terrorists, also operating in northern Gaza, fired several mortar shells into Israel’s Eshkol Regional Council.

The IDF imposed an embargo on a video allegedly documenting a Palestinian terrorist using a Palestinian woman as a human shield, Ynet discovered Sunday.

Footage taken by IDF cameras in the area clearly shows the terrorist holding the woman hostage, carrying her as a barrier between himself and IDF forces.

The video documents an incident that took place two weeks ago, near the Gaza border: Seven Palestinians planting explosive devices north of Beit Lahia were intercepted by IDF soldiers. Continue Reading »

Israeli Official: Rockets Fired at Eilat Came from Libya

Israeli defense official says that the rockets that were fired from Egypt toward Eilat earlier this month were smuggled from Libya.

The Associated Press on Friday.

The official was referring to the firing of two Grad-style rockets at the Israeli resort town of Eilat, right before the Passover holiday.

Israel has said the attacks originated in the Sinai Peninsula. Egypt has denied the rockets were fired from its territory.

The Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity according, told AP that Israel believes the rockets were stolen from a Libyan weapons storehouse and smuggled into Egypt. Continue Reading »

Yaalon: We Will Retaliate Until They Beg Us to Stop

Deputy PM Moshe Yaalon vowed no mercy for Gaza terror gangs who continue to fire rockets at Israel’s south.

Minister of Strategic Affairs Minister and deputy premier Moshe Yaalon on Thursday said Israel would make terrorists “beg us to stop.”

“As long as they fire, it isn’t over,” Yaalon said as rocket fire on Israel’s south enters seventh straight day despite a theoretical cease-fire brokered late Monday evening.

“Anyone threatening us is risking his life. We will retaliate until they beg us to stop,” Yaalon said. “They have to realize that the consequences of the rocket fire are not worth it.” Continue Reading »

1 Injured as Rocket Hits Downtown Netivot

Israel’s asymmetrical cease-fire with Gaza continues as rockets continue to rain down on the south.

Gaza terrorists fired a rocket into downtown Netivot around 21:30 (GMT+2) on Tuesday evening.

Magen David Adom reported that one person was lightly injured after being hit in the hand by flying glass. 11 people suffered shock.

The attack came just hours after a pair of rockets slammed into the Ashkelon beaches. No physical injuries were reported in that attack.

Rocket Fire a ‘Dramatic Development’

The IDF says the quantity and rate of fire from Gaza is unprecedented; notes terrorists are actively using civilians as human shields.

IDF officials say the 200 rockets fired at Israel’s southern communities since Friday marks a “dramatic development in terms of the quantity and rate of the fire.”

“In the first three days of the current round of fighting we’ve sustained a larger quantity of rockets than the quantity fired at Israel in the two previous rounds, in August and October, which were longer,” an army official said.
