Air raid sirens sound throughout Israel as civilians, US troops & IDF hold war drills

Israel held a nation-wide emergency drill, complete with air-raid  sirens throughout the country in preparation for a war “on six fronts,” while US ground troops drilled with IDF soldiers in the 2018 Juniper Cobra joint military exercises.

Last week at the graduation ceremony for new Israeli naval officers, IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. Aviv Kochavi said that the Jewish state was preparing for war on no fewer than six fronts.

Kochavi did not list those fronts, except to say that Iran is among them.

The others can be guessed at: Egyptian Sinai, where ISIS holds sway; Hamas-ruled Gaza; Lebanon; Syria; and the cyber realm. Continue Reading »

U.S. & Israeli ground forces begin new phase in joint #JuniperCobra2018 drill

Now that Israeli & American aerial defense forces completed their joint training as part of the 2018 Juniper Cobra exercise, more than 1,000 U.S. Marines and Israeli paratroopers join in urban warfare scenarios. – Watch Video

More than one thousand United States Marines and Israeli paratroopers have recently been training in Israel’s southern region’s Tze’elim base, as part of the massive joint 2018 Juniper Cobra exercise held this month.

IDF, US troops utilize 4-tiered missile systems in joint defense exercise in Israel

In the largest joint Israel, US air & missile defense exercise, 5,000 troops prepare to face multi-front rocket, missile attacks utilizing the Arrow 3, Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Patriot missile systems.

Some 5,000 IDF and American troops have been training together in Israel against the threat of massive missile and rocket barrages on Israel coming from Lebanon, Syria, the Gaza Strip and even Iran in a future Middle East war.

U.S. Scales-Back Joint Military Exercise with Israel, Affecting Potential Strike on Iran

U.S. feels a smaller contingent may make it more difficult for the Israeli gov’t to launch a successful pre-emptive strike on Tehran’s nuclear program.

 

Seven months ago, Israel and the United States postponed a massive joint military exercise that was originally set to go forward just as concerns were brimming that Israel would launch a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The exercise was rescheduled for late October, and appears likely to go forward on the cusp of the U.S. presidential election. But it won’t be nearly the same exercise. Well-placed sources in both countries have told TIME that Washington has greatly reduced the scale of U.S.
