JUNIPER COBRA 2020 Military Exercise Cancelled Over Coronavirus

Following Israel’s new Health Ministry guidelines on the Coronavirus threat, the JUNIPER COBRA Exercise scheduled for the American and Israeli militaries has been cancelled.

A joint exercise between the American and Israeli militaries has been cancelled due to concern over the novel Coronavirus.

The JUNIPER COBRA Exercise was scheduled to begin this week and last through March 13. Over 600 troops from the US European Command were scheduled to arrive from Germany and the United States.

US & Israel begins 10th joint ‘Juniper Cobra’ military exercise

Juniper Cobra is a 5-day joint military exercise conducted every other year between Israel and the United States to strengthen US Armed  Forces-IDF military cooperation against regional threats, promoting long-term security.

The 10th annual Juniper Cobra exercise between the IDF and the United States Europe Command (EUCOM) began on Tuesday, with hundreds of US troops landing in Israel to take part.

The drill will take place between March 3rd and March 13th, will be the largest IDF and USEUCOM joint exercise taking place this year with over 2,500 US troops participating in several different locations- in Israel, Europe and the United States. Continue Reading »

Air raid sirens sound throughout Israel as civilians, US troops & IDF hold war drills

Israel held a nation-wide emergency drill, complete with air-raid  sirens throughout the country in preparation for a war “on six fronts,” while US ground troops drilled with IDF soldiers in the 2018 Juniper Cobra joint military exercises.

Last week at the graduation ceremony for new Israeli naval officers, IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. Aviv Kochavi said that the Jewish state was preparing for war on no fewer than six fronts.

Kochavi did not list those fronts, except to say that Iran is among them.

More than one thousand United States Marines and Israeli paratroopers have recently been training in Israel’s southern region’s Tze’elim base, as part of the massive joint 2018 Juniper Cobra exercise held this month.

Historical 1st: US Army establishes permanent military facility in Israel

After years of military collaboration & the strategic commitment between Israel and the United States, the first permanent US military base on Israeli soil has been established in Israel.
• IDF also announced the formation of a 2nd Iron Dome battalion.

The U.S. Army on Monday dedicated a new military base inside the Israeli Air Force’s Aerial Defense School base near Kibbutz Mashabei Sade in the Negev.

IDF joins US European Command in joint missile defense exercise

 

Juniper Cobra, a joint exercise which takes place every other year, enhances the interoperability between the IDF & U.S. European Command designed to improve integrated defensive capabilities.
