Dozens of African asylum seekers who walked out of the southern detention facility marched to the country’s capital to hold a demonstration outside Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Office.

Dozens of African asylum seekers who left the Holot open detention facility in southern Israel two days ago, arrived in Jerusalem on Tuesday morning for a protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office.

The protestors arrived on buses from Kibbutz Nachshon, where they spent the night. They held signs reading, “We’re in danger, not dangerous,” and were received with a round of applause from some 100 additional protestors who arrived to support them. Continue Reading »

Kibbutz Security Squad Capture 3 Infiltrators from Gaza

Israeli soldiers opened fire on Arab rioters north of Beit El on Saturday, wounding four of them, Palestinian Authority (PA) medical sources said.

The shooting happened near the Jalazoun neighborhood, the sources said. Beit El is located in the biblical heartland of Samaria, north of Jerusalem.

An Israeli military spokesman told AFP that troops fired rubber bullets at a group of around 150 Palestinians who were throwing stones at them, but were unable to determine how many demonstrators were wounded. Continue Reading »

IDF forces opened fire on and wounded a Palestinian who was attempting to infiltrate into the village of Meitar in the Negev. The man was found sabotaging the fence in an apparent attempt to enter the community, the IDF said.

The forces fired warning shots at the suspect who was ultimately shot in the leg.

The Justice Ministry’s Custody Reviews Court has ordered the release of an Eritrean woman held in detention in wake of the High Court’s ruling that the amendment to the Prevention of Infiltration Law that allows the detention of infiltrators for up to three years without trial is unconstitutional.

Both of the Youths Beaten by Illegal Workers – Arrested

2 youths were beaten by infiltrators who were following a girl. At least that was the story 10 days ago. Police now report the victims are in fact the attackers.

One of the two youths got out of their car when they saw two workers following a woman, and offered the woman a ride.

Chen Yadegar, a friend of the youths, who all attend the same high school in Tel Aviv, told Arutz Sheva that at that point, two other foreign workers materialized, and all four threatened they would “rip his eyes out,” and even kill him, if he “interfered,” Chen said. Continue Reading »

Knesset approves law making ‘infiltrators’ transferring money abroad illegal

The new amendment to the ‘Law for the Prevention of Infiltration’ stipulates that foreigners can’t send property while they’re in Israel & limits the amount they can take with them once they exit Israel.

2nd amendment determines that said violations will be considered a crime.

 

 

The Knesset plenum on Monday approved two amendments to the Law for the Prevention of Infiltration barring illegal migrants from sending money or property out of Israel while they are in the country and limiting the amount they can take with them when they leave.

African Infiltrators still sneak into Israel from Sinai

 

4 African migrants and 5 other people scaled the 5-meter (16′) fence to enter Israel illegally last month.

The African infiltrators are taken by law to Saharonim detention center for at least 3 years.

This March, only 2 people breached fence, in contrast with 1,611 March 2012.

Only 3 Infiltrated through Egyptian Border so far in October

Three infiltrated in first 10 days of this month, compared to 1,309 in October 2011.

Only three people infiltrated into Israel through the southern border in the first ten days of October, according to official data communicated to journalists Wednesday.

The journalists were accompanying Interior Minister Eli Yishai on a tour of the Saharonim incarceration facility in the Negev.

In October of 2011, by comparison, a total of 1,309 people infiltrated through the border. This means the rate of infiltration has declined to less than 3% of what it was last year, largely thanks to the fence that has been erected along the border. Continue Reading »

Netanyahu orders swift deportation of 25,000 illegal African migrants

Orders acceleration of holding facility construction for citizens of Eritrea and Sudan who cannot be deported due to conditions in their home countries.

 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his ministers to accelerate efforts to deport citizens of South Sudan, the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Ethiopia who are living in Israel illegally on Sunday.

Speaking at Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said that while it is not possible to expel citizens of Eritrea and Sudan, whose lives would be at risk in their home countries, holding facilities for them must be built in the Negev as quickly as possible.

Egyptians foil infiltration attempt

Infiltration of 36 African migrants to Israel prevented due to coordination between IDF, Sinai security forces

 

Egyptian forces prevented the infiltration of African migrants into Israel over the weekend. On Friday, an IDF force stationed in the Eilat Mountains detected a group of 36 people trying to cross the border, where a fence has yet to been erected. They then alerted the Egyptian forces who foiled the attempt, unlike most cases.

According to available details, IDF soldiers had warned the infiltrators not to cross the border as the Egyptian officers arrived at the scene and prevented the infiltration.

IDF forces deployed along the border witness shooting incidents involving the Egyptian forces and Bedouins who try to smuggle narcotics, weapons and infiltrators into Israel on a daily basis. Continue Reading »
