Cleared for publication: IDF apprehended ‘block-throwing’ Palestinian terrorist

The 49 yr-old Palestinian terrorist who dropped a cinder block on the head of IDF soldier Amit Ben Yigal last month in Samaria was arrested by combined Israeli security forces according to a statement by an IDF spokesperson.

Israeli security forces captured an Arab terrorist responsible for killing an IDF soldier in Samaria last month.

Military censors have cleared for publication the arrest, which took place several weeks ago, of Nizmi Abu Bakr, a 49-year-old Palestinian Authority resident of the town of Ya’bad, west of Jenin, in northern Samaria.

Abu Bakr is suspected of dropping a block on 21-year-old IDF soldier Amit Ben Yigal from the roof of his building in Ya’bad, during an arrest operation on the night of May 12th. Continue Reading »

UNREPORTED in the West: After Prince William Duke of Cambridge finished this tour of the Jalazun refugee camp east of Ramallah, Palestinian children took to the streets to pelt him, and his convoy with stones.

Prince William’s visit was important for being the first (official visit) by a member of the British Royal Family since the founding of the State of Israel. But beside that fact, it was a rather uneventful stopover, as befitting the visit of an apolitical figure to a politically-charged region.

Except for once incident.

Palestinian parliament member caught throwing rocks at IDF soldiers

 

This, not being the first time Jamal Hawil, a senior official in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades has created a provocation in Judea and Samaria, so he was once imprisoned by Israel.

Jamal Hawil, a Palestinian Authority member of parliament representing the Fatah party, has been caught on camera throwing rocks at IDF soldiers near Ramallah.

The images were apparently captured last weekend, ahead of the events marking Nakba Day and against the backdrop of a hunger strike by Palestinian security prisoners.

Stone throwing instigator shot & killed by Israel Border Police near Bethlehem

 

Ma’an News Agency reports the 17 yr-old Palestinian stone thrower was shot 3 times in the chest during clashes with Border Police in the village of Tuqu.

Border Police officers shot and killed a Palestinian stone-thrower during clashes near Bethlehem in the West Bank on Monday.

“Hundreds of rioters hurled rocks at the security forces in the area,” an Israeli military spokeswoman said. “Due to the extent of the violence, border police fired 0.22 calibre rounds towards a main violent instigator, resulting in his death.”

According to the Ma’an News Agency, 17-year-old Qusay Hasna al-Umour was shot in the chest three times during clashes in the village of Tuqu. Continue Reading »

Palestinian terrorist killed after stabbing Soldier in Samaria

 

After an IDF unit cornered a group of Palestinian stone-throwers who had been targeting Israeli cars, a male Arab stabbed a soldier prompting his unit to neutralize the threat.

Undercover Border Police troops arrested on Tuesday five Palestinians aged 13-25 who were throwing stones at police and Border Police forces in Jerusalem’s Ras al-Amud neighborhood.

Video footage obtained by Ynet shows the Palestinian youth hurling the stones at security forces, and several seconds later captures the Border Police detective, in civilian clothes, catch them in the act.

Israel’s Justice Minister seeks fines on parents of underage Palestinian attackers

 

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked plans on placing responsibility on parents that encourage stone-throwing kids under the age of 12, by levying heavy fines to keep them from exploiting the children as a tool in the terror machine.

39 Palestinians arrested by Police for throwing rocks, firebombs over 48 hours

Twenty-seven Palestinian suspects accused of throwing rocks and firebombs at officers in flashpoint Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem were arrested during an overnight police sweep that started late Saturday night, police said on Sunday.

The crackdown brought the total number of arrests over the trailing 48 hours to 39, according to the police.

After making wrong turn, 5 American tourists viciously attacked by Palestinians

 

Five American tourists who accidentally drove into Arab controlled Hebron were attacked by stones-throwers and firebombed, before finally being ushered away by lone man before being extricated by Israeli forces; leaving two injured.

Five American tourists were on their way to visit the Cave of the Patriarchs, a Jewish holy site in the West Bank, when they got lost and entered a sector of the city of Hebron which is under Palestinian control. There were reports of clashes in the city in the aftermath of the event.

Netanyahu: Jerusalem to reevaluate open-fire orders on hostiles throwing rocks & fire-bombs

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a special high-level security meeting on Wednesday where it was decided to increase security forces in Jerusalem and on Road 443 from the capital to Mod’in, and weigh new open-fire orders on those throwing rocks and fire-bombs.

The meeting, which included Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz, General Security Services (Shin Bet) head Yoram Cohen, and other security officials was called in light of a recent spike in terror incidents in the capital and on 443, which is one of the major roads to and from the capital. Israel’s Knesset approves harsher stone-throwing law: 10-20 years

New legislation sets 20-year sentence if intention is to cause harm, and 10-yrs for throwing at police when intention is to disrupt officers from completing duty.

Legislation to impose harsher sentences on stone-throwers passed the final hurdle on Monday night in the Knesset after it passed the second and third readings, making it into law.

The bill, proposed by former justice minister Tzipi Livni and then promoted in this term by her successor Ayelet Shaked, passed with 69 in favor, including Zionist Union MKs, and 17 against.
