Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has repeatedly said he plans to move Brazil’s embassy to Jerusalem, is scheduled to visit Israel for 4 days one week before Israel’s elections and is likely to use the opportunity to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will arrive in Israel on March 31 for a four-day visit, Israel Hayom has learned, just one week ahead of Israel’s general elections on April 9.

Secretary of State Pompeo assured Netanyahu, the U.S. will protect Israel

In a Brasilia meeting with the Israeli leader, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo assured PM Netanyahu that the Trump administration is working on plans to make the American troop pull-out from Syria as non-disruptive for Israeli security as possible.

PM Netanyahu: Brazil relocating embassy to Jerusalem, matter of ‘when, not if’

Arab League ‘warns’ Brazilian President-elect should embassy move to Jerusalem

The Arab League has told Brazil’s right-wing President-elect Jair Bolsonaro that moving Brazil’s Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem would be a setback for relations with Arab countries.

Such a move by Bolsonaro, who takes office on Jan. 1, would be a sharp shift in Brazilian foreign policy.

Brazil kept promise to support Israel at United Nations

The symbolic victory against Hamas at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, in which 87 nations supported a draft resolution condemning Hamas, marked another milestone: Brazil took an unprecedented step by siding with Israel and the U.S.
