Palestinian autocrat Mahmoud Abbas has agreed to release 55 yr-old Issam Akel from “life in prison” and allowed him to be deported to the US after being convicted of selling home to Jews.

A middle-aged Palestinian-American man sentenced to life in prison and forced labor by a Palestinian Authority (PA) court in Ramallah for his alleged involvement in the sale of land to Jews, was released on Tuesday, Israel’s Kan media first reported following pressure from Israel and finally from the United States, local media reported.

PA demands Palestinian homeowners seek official approval to deal with Israeli Arabs

Saying Israeli Arabs are involved in nefarious endeavors and must be vetted by Abbas’ Preventive Security Forces before Palestinians are allowed to rent their home, the PA seeks to eliminate possibility that Israeli Arabs may be used as go-between to facilitate property sales to Jews.

Palestinian landlords wishing to lease properties to Palestinians who hold Israeli ID cards are now required to receive permission from the Palestinian Authority.

The measure, announced last week by the PA, has drawn sharp criticism from Arab residents of east Jerusalem, who hold Israeli ID cards.

Palestinians sentence American to life with hard labor for selling home to Jews

Palestinian court in Ramallah, run by autocrat Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority, has sentenced an American citizen who also has an Israeli ID card, to life in prison and hard labor, for his real estate deal with Jews.

An American citizen was sentenced to life in prison by a Palestinian Authority court Monday for involvement in the sale of Arab-owned real estate to Jews.

On Monday, the Grand Criminal Court in Ramallah sentenced Isaam Akel, an Arab American who also holds an Israeli identification card, to life imprisonment with hard labor, the PA’s WAFA media outlet reported.

Palestinian Security rounds up dozens, arrest 44 Arabs for selling property to Jews

Mahmoud Abbas’ security forces reported in a rare statement that they have arrested 44 Palestinians suspected of involvement in alleged real estate transactions of “transferring ownership over [Islamic] land to the occupation” and ‘urged’ others not to sell lands or homes in the West Bank and eastern side of Jerusalem to Jews.

US Ambassador Demands Release of Arrested Palestinian-American

The U.S. envoy to Israel has demanded the immediate release of a 55 yr-old Palestinian man who also holds American citizenship, arrested over 2 months ago and still detained by Mahmoud Abbas’ security services for facilitating the sell of a property to a Jew.

US Ambassador David M. Friedman has demanded the immediate release of Isaam Akel, a Palestinian-American arrested by the Palestinian Authority security forces two months ago for engaging in a real estate transaction with Jews in the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City.

Palestinian Security arrest Palestinian-American for selling house to Jews

A family member sought the help of the U.S. State Department when his Palestinian-American relative was arrested by Mahmoud Abbas’ PA for suspicion of receiving $25,000 in the sale of a house in east Jerusalem to Jews.

Palestinian Authority security forces have arrested a Palestinian-American citizen on suspicion of involvement in a real estate transaction with Jews in east Jerusalem, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

The man’s family has notified the US State Department of his arrest.
