Israel to inject funds, education & infrastructure for East Jerusalem annexation

The government’s plan to inject capital into E. Jerusalem to ‘strengthen’ the area, is really a maneuver to take this part of the city off the diplomatic agenda & anchor it as the indivisible Jewish capital.

The government plan to strengthen Israel’s control over East Jerusalem, approved Sunday by the cabinet, did not emerge from a vacuum. It’s the product of a right-wing perspective that’s shared by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Economy Minister Naftali Bennett, who also holds the Jerusalem Affairs portfolio. The essence of this approach is breaking down the issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the status of Jerusalem into components including economics, education and infrastructure.

Making History: ‘Life Without Parole Bill’ Approved for Vote, Next Stop, the Knesset

Israel’s Economics Minister Naftali Bennett posts a victory comment on his Facebook page shortly after bill passed committee vote, praises ‘end to ‘murder deal’ only in Israel.’

By Tova Dvorin

The “Life Without Parole” bill has passed in a Security Committee vote, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett revealed in a Facebook post Sunday afternoon, providing a significant stumbling block for future terrorist releases.

“This moment, the government approved the law against releasing terrorists,” Bennett wrote. “Today, we end the ‘murder deal’ – a deal which exists only in Israel. Under the new law, [terrorists convicted of] serious acts of murder could see the judge give them a life sentence without the possibility of parole.” Continue Reading »

Bennett: Annexing ‘Area C’ is the only available option to Fatah-Hamas gov’t

The Bayit Yehudi chairman Bennett says the time has come to go on the offensive and insists that his “sovereignty program” is the best course of action & the “only available option” left to Israel.

Israel should annex Area C of the West Bank in response to Monday’s swearing in ceremony of a unified Fatah-Hamas government made up of “terrorists in suits,” Economic Affairs Minister Naftali Bennett said.

The time has come to go on the offensive rather than act defensively and “to do what is good for Israel,” Bennett said.

The swearing in ceremony for the unity government in Ramallah occurred more than two decades after the signing of the 1993 Oslo Accords and nine years after the 2005 Gaza withdrawal.

By Hezki Ezra

Economics Minister and Jewish Home party Chairman Naftali Bennett has drafted a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Wednesday night, demanding that Israel establish full sovereignty over “settlement blocs” in Judea and Samaria.

Bennett explained that the demand comes now – not earlier – due to the fact that the Palestinian Authority has violated the Oslo Accords by taking unilateral action in international fora by applying for membership in fifteen different international organizations.

“These days we have witnessed the decline of the peace process,” Bennett wrote to the Prime Minister, “and the Palestinians broke a new record of extortion and disobedience. Continue Reading »

If he doesn’t want to negotiate, that’s fine. And if there are no talks he plans to complain to the United Nations? Continue Reading »

By Gil Ronen

Minister of Economics and Naftali Bennett, who heads the Bayit Yehudi party and is a member of the Diplomacy and Security Cabinet, made clear Tuesday that no Arab-Israelis will be included in the last batch of terrorist murderers being released at the end of the month, as part of a “gesture” toward the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Speaking on IDF Radio, Bennett called for a discussion to be held in the Cabinet as soon as possible, regarding the idea of cancelling the fourth tranche in the terrorist release altogether, and citing recent statements by PA chairman Mhmoud Abbas (“Abu Mazen”) as proof that there is no point in carrying out any more releases. PM’s Office: Bennett needs to apologize or leave the gov’t

Minister Naftali Bennett jumps-the-gun in his untimely scolding of Netanyahu after PM said ‘Jews could live under Palestinian sovereignty in future agreement’.

PMO reports that Bennett’s recent comments & undeserving criticism of the PM & his coalition, have put the gov’t in danger.

Either Economy Minister Naftali Bennett apologizes for slamming Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in recent days for raising the idea that Jews could live in settlements under Palestinian sovereignty, or he is “endangering the coalition,” sources in the Prime Minister’s Office said Wednesday morning.

“Bennett was given a message that he needs to apologize clearly, otherwise there will be a price,” the sources said, not hiding the fact that Bennett’s comments, including a fiery and feisty speech Tuesday night, has triggered a coalition crisis. Continue Reading »

Netanyahu is fuming over Bennett’s harsh criticism of his “plan” to allow Jews to remain in their homes under Palestinian rule in the event of a final-status settlement.

Ha’aretz reported that Netanyahu was upset that Bennett had ruined his “gambit” to expose the Palestinians as anti-Semitic. Continue Reading »
