19 Senate Democrats warn Netanyahu, Gantz against applying sovereignty

19 Senate Democrats send a letter to PM Binyamin Netanyahu & Defense Minister Benny Gantz, warning that Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, Israel’s ancestral homeland, would place Israel at risk.

A group of US Senators from the Democratic party have sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benny Gantz in which they warn against an Israeli move to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

The letter, sent on Thursday, is signed by 19 Senate Democrats, led by Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). Continue Reading »

Muslim Arab leaders meet to pray for Israeli sovereignty and to mark Iftar

Muslim leaders met yesterday at the Samaria Regional Council to celebrate Iftar and Lag Ba’Omer saying, ‘Many of us pray for Israeli sovereignty and to Stop the Palestinian Authority’s terrorist path.’

Arab and Muslim leaders yesterday arrived at the offices of the Samaria Regional Council to celebrate Iftar and Lag Ba’omer together with Council head Yossi Dagan.

Among those in attendance were Sheikh Abu Khalil Tamimi of Ramallah, Mohammed Massad of Jenin, Sara Zoabi as well as other leaders who preferred to hide their identities for fear of their lives.

Dagan and the Muslims discussed the Deal of the Century’s impact on the region, eradicating terror and incitement to violence, and discussed with them ways to maintain peace and economic and social cooperation. Continue Reading »

Bennett Calls on Gov’t to Annex ‘Settlement Blocs’ like Jerusalem & Golan

Economics Minister drafts letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu demanding gov’t take legal sovereignty over settlement blocs, after PA scrubbed negotiations.

Economics Minister and Jewish Home party Chairman Naftali Bennett has drafted a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Wednesday night, demanding that Israel establish full sovereignty over “settlement blocs” in Judea and Samaria.

Bennett explained that the demand comes now – not earlier – due to the fact that the Palestinian Authority has violated the Oslo Accords by taking unilateral action in international fora by applying for membership in fifteen different international organizations.

“These days we have witnessed the decline of the peace process,” Bennett wrote to the Prime Minister, “and the Palestinians broke a new record of extortion and disobedience. Continue Reading »

Police ascend Temple Mount, 3 Palestinian rioters arrested

 

Rioting Arabs threw stones and firecrackers at security forces from the holy site, requiring police to enter it to disperse violent crowd.

About 20 masked Palestinians threw stones and firecrackers at Israeli security forces from atop the Temple Mount Tuesday morning.

A police force entered the area to disperse the rioters using crowd dispersal means, including stun grenades. Three rioters were arrested on suspicion they threw rocks and firecrackers at security forces.

Dr. Alan Baker, an expert on international law and a member of the committee headed by Judge Edmond Levi recommending the extension of Israeli law to Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria, said at a conference discussing the matter Tuesday night that Israel would be fully in its rights to do so. “The task of the Levi Committee was to look at the construction situation in Judea and Samaria and make the appropriate recommendations on how to proceed,” Baker said at the event sponsored by the Women in Green organization.
