Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for the first time spoke about the Palestinian demands for extending peace talks: A three months freeze in settlement construction during which time talks would focus on delineating the border of the future Palestinian state.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas hinted at plans to dismantle the Palestinian Authority (PA) over the weekend, according to a report in Yediot Aharonot, and thus enact a serious blow to Israel through international legislation.

According to the daily, dismantling the PA would transfer all responsibility for the Palestinian Arabs to Israel, dissolving the Oslo Accords. But it would also leave Israel vulnerable to litigation over the “settlements” in international courts – and change Israel’s demographics to tip the religious and ethnic majority. Continue Reading »

Bayit Yehudi Chairman Naftali Bennett reiterated Friday that his party would send Israel to elections if the government decided to free Palestinian prisoners, namely a group of Israeli-Arab terrorists, as part of attempts to salvage peace talks, after the party held a faction meeting.

Jerusalem Cutting Most Ties with Abbas’ Government

 

PM Netanyahu forbids meetings with Palestinians and all cooperation with the Palestinian Authority.

Prime Minister Binyamin  has issued instructions to government ministries forbidding meetings with Palestinian officials, and halting all civilian and economic cooperation with the Palestinian Authority (PA), following the collapse of negotiations with the PA.

“In response to the Palestinian violation of their commitments under peace talks… Israel government ministers have been told to refrain from meeting their Palestinian counterparts,” the official told AFP, requesting anonymity.

Contrary to Kerry’s statement, PA has submitted official bid to join 15 int’l conventions

 

Palestinians say because Israel won’t free more prisoners, Palestine has formally requested to become signatory to treaties on apartheid & the laws of war.

 

The Palestinian Authority officially asked Wednesday that the state of Palestine become a signatory to 15 international conventions.

The request was made by Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Maliki, who met with Robert Serry, the United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, and Swiss and Dutch envoys to the Palestinian Authority.

Maliki told the diplomats that the Palestinian request came in response to Israel’s failure to release the fourth batch of prisoners it said it would free if peace talks progressed.

US Secretary of State John Kerry’s decision to cancel a Tuesday night meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is indicative of the Obama administration’s “growing impatience” with the deadlocked peace talks, the New York Times reported Wednesday. The newspaper quoted a senior US official as saying that the Americans believe Israel and the Palestinians should find a way out of this latest deadlock themselves, and that Kerry’s current efforts had been exhausted. Abbas Signs PA Requests To Join UN Agencies in Breach of Agreements

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas breached the conditions of the peace talks Tuesday by signing a request to join several United Nations (UN) agencies.

Abbas obligated himself to refrain from such unilateral moves for international recognition during the course of the peace talks, restarted last July by US Secretary of State John Kerry.

“The Palestinian leadership has unanimously approved a decision to seek membership of 15 UN agencies and international treaties, beginning with the Fourth Geneva Convention,” Abbas said on TV following the signing, reports AFP. Continue Reading »

“There is an opportunity that won’t repeat itself to reach an arrangement in the Middle East, and a formula must be found to stop the talks from blowing up,” Abdullah said.

The Palestinian Authority on Monday gave US Secretary of State John Kerry 24 hours to get Israel to release the fourth batch of terrorists, according to AFP, after which they will resume moves to seek international recognition.

Palestinian Arab sources say Abbas’ Palestinian Authority is waiting for the US to formally respond to Israel’s decision not to release imprisoned terrorists, before taking action.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) is biding its time to act after Israel refused to release the fourth batch of terrorists Friday, a source told A-Sharaq Al-Awsat Sunday, and is waiting for US government officials to react before taking unilateral steps on the issue in violation of previous agreements.

White House Offers Israel Pollard for Israel’s 4th Terrorist Release

If Jerusalem does not renege on releasing the 4th batch of Palestinian murders from prison, and continues ‘peace talks,’ Washington says Pollard will go free, according to IDF Radio.

The United States has offered to release longtime captive Jonathan Pollard from jail if Israel agrees to release the fourth tranche of terrorist murderers that it is supposed to free as a “gesture” to the Palestinian Authority (PA), reports IDF Radio‘s Ilil Shahar. In addition, Israel has to agree to continue “peace talks” with the PA.
