Peres Center for Peace & UNESCO join forces

UNESCO seeks to establish strategic cooperation with the Peres Center in order to put the center’s educational methods into practice by championing peace & interfaith dialogue all over the world.

The UN agency for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) has decided to sign a partnership agreement with the Peres Center for Peace. Under this partnership, UNESCO is to promote several Peres Center projects in the fields of education and coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians.

Israel’s former president Shimon Peres reminds Maryam Faghih Imani that the Persian king Cyrus the Great had been the 1st Zionist, telling the Jewish leaders to “take your people and go to your land.”

Former president Shimon Peres held a rare meeting Monday morning with a peace activist who is the daughter of an Iranian ayatollah.

Peres told Maryam Faghih Imani, the founder and president of the Centre for Cultural Diplomacy & Development (CCDD), that “when it comes to Iran, we really don’t know why Iran is against us. We are not against Iran.”

Daughter of prominent Iranian Ayatollah to meet with former Israeli president Peres with message of peace & economic cooperation for Israel.

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres will meet an Iranian peace activist who arrived in Israel on a special visit to promote peace in the Middle East on Monday, a statement from Peres’ office said.

Maryam Faghih Imani, the daughter of Sayed Kamal Faghih Imani, a senior Iranian Ayatollah, “came to Israel to convey a message of reconciliation and dialogue among peoples,” the statement reads.

Imani and Peres will meet at the Peres Center for Peace to discuss projects to promote peace between nations in the Middle East, and the development of cross-border initiatives. Continue Reading »
