Farm workers in Saudi Arabia captured a large pelican with an Israeli plastic tag fitted to its leg, the third such incident in the Gulf Kingdom in three years.

The Arabic-language al-Riyadh newspaper did not identify the Jordanian but said the Riyadh criminal court found him guilty of “writing to the Israeli prime minister and communicating with a Zionist (Israeli) intelligence officer” by email and receiving a financial payment.

France believed the United States attempted to hack into its president’s communications network but the U.S. hinted that Israel was behind the attack, AFP reported on Friday, based on a leaked U.S. intelligence document.

Jerusalem Arab Sentenced After Spying for Hezbollah

A 38 year-old Arab resident of Jerusalem’s Jabel Mukabar neighborhood has been sentenced to 42 months in jail for volunteering to spy for Hezbollah.

Issam Hashem Mashahara, who worked as a bus driver, reportedly traveled to the Lebanese capital Beirut of his own volition, and arranged to meet a group of Hezbollah operatives there.

An alleged avian Israeli agent has been captured in Lebanon, Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV station reported on Wednesday.

The eagle was captured by amateur hunters in the the town of Ashqout in the Keserwan district of the country, which is north east of Beirut.

The eagle was carrying an implanted receiver and a brass ring was found around its foot with markings in English that connected the suspect to Tel Aviv University, according to the report.

A court in Azerbaijan on Friday sentenced an alleged Iranian spy to 15 years in jail for plotting an attack on the Israeli embassy in the country, AFP reports.

Iranian citizen Bahram Feyzi, who was arrested by Azerbaijani security forces in March, was sentenced by the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, court officials said.

According to court documents, Feyzi, who was also found guilty of espionage and drug possession, was accused of being an agent of the secret service of neighboring Iran. Continue Reading »

Egypt’s Al-Nahar TV aired a report last month about an Egyptian lawyer who was accused of spying for Israel because he was surfing on Israeli websites. The report was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

According to the report, the lawyer was sitting in an Internet cafe when the cafe owner began to suspect he was a spy after seeing that the lawyer had entered the website of the Israeli Mossad, and was talking on the phone in many languages – Italian, French, and Hebrew, among others. Last week, after a stork was caught in Egypt wearing a tracking device, the police held it on suspicion it was a Mossad spy for Israel. After its release, stork hunted down, then eaten.

Menes the stork was caught in Egypt last week and held by authorities on suspicion of being used to spy for Israel, due to the tracking device attached to its leg. Just days after its release into the wild, it was hunted down and eaten, according to the UK’s Guardian.

Egyptian Security Arrests Duck, as ‘Zionist Spy’

Egypt’s Police arrests water fowl suspected of being an Israeli spy, maybe for the Mossad.

Egyptian police have arrested a duck that they fear was sent by Israel as a spy, Egypt’s Al-Ahram news agency reports.

The bird was spotted by a fisherman in the Nile River, in the Qena region, as it swam with other birds. The fisherman noticed that the bird had a device attached to its feathers, which he feared could be used to gather information.
