IDF institutes new policy: Terrorists launching incendiary-kites will be targeted

After 3 months, 1000 fires, and hundreds of millions lost in environmental and agricultural terrorism, the Israeli gov’t directed the IDF Southern Command to ‘adjust’ their response policy to Hamas’ terror-kites and incendiary balloon launchers.

Southern Command head General Herzi Halevi said on Sunday that Israel would start targeting terrorists responsible for launching incendiary kites into Israel, more than three months after the phenomenon began.

“We have prepared for these things in recent weeks. We understand that there is a change in thinking about how to deal with the fire terrorism, and we have developed all sorts of things in order to expand the response,” Halevi said at a meeting of commanders whose units are deployed near Gaza. Israel introduces Sky Spotter to locate Hamas ‘terror kites’ & incendiary balloons

Sky Spotter is an advanced Early Warning system with sensitive optical sensors to identify flying objects from 1km to tens of kilometers away, that alert firefighters to where the kites land for immediate response.

Close to 100 days since the first incendiary kite was launched from the Gaza Strip toward Israel causing fires to ravage the south, the IDF has deployed a system that can spot incendiary aerial devices launched from the Gaza Strip, track them and direct firefighters to where they land.

NGO seeks War-Crimes case against Hamas’ incendiary ‘Terror-Kites’ at ICC

Shurat HaDin, the Israel Law Center NGO, has asked Israeli farmers on the Gaza border to strengthen their pending petition to the Israeli courts by joining their legal petition to the International Criminal Court over Hamas’ flaming terror-kites.

An Israeli NGO is building a case against Hamas to submit to the International Criminal Court over the flaming kites the terror group has launched against Israeli border farmers in the last month.
