REPORT: Trump administration bringing trade war to Israel

Trump’s decision to upgrade the existing agricultural trade agreement should reduce protectionism, opening Israeli markets to more competition & lower prices. That will have great support in Israel, where high consumer costs are a frequent source of frustration that have facilitated numerous state-wide protests.

US President Donald Trump’s ambition to change the rules of global trade is not skipping over Israel, according to a report by Bloomberg news. US trade negotiators will be visiting Israel this week for discussions on upgrading the existing agricultural trade agreements and reduce tariffs for American farm exports to Israel.

Israeli exports to Africa double as China’s imports decline

 

With Africa’s rapid economic growth, a quarter of Israeli exporters believe that Africa holds the market where they can expand the most effectively, since China is currently suffering slight economic stagnation.
– Israel’s top Africa exporting partners are: Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Massachusetts Gov. Baker plans overseas trade mission to Israel in December

 

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker’s trip to Israel in December, follows his predecessor, Gov. Patrick’s 2011 & 2014 visits to the Jewish State that helped found 200 Israeli-based businesses, that generated $9.3 billion in state revenue for 2015.

Gov. Charlie Baker is planning his first international trade mission as governor, with a trip to Israel in December.

The mission, which will be held Dec. 9 to 14, will include a delegation of about 40 people from private business and a dozen from state government, including Baker. The focus will be on the cybersecurity and digital health industries. Continue Reading »
