An “overwhelming” number of U.N. Security Council members oppose Israel’s decision to deduct money that Palestinians transfer to the families of terrorists who carried out attacks on Israel from their monthly tax revenue, Kuwait’s U.N. ambassador said Friday.

Israel weights withdrawing candidacy on United Nation Security Council

Israel is expected to withdraw its candidacy for a place on the UN Security Council since the Foreign Ministry pointed out Israel’s victory against Germany, Belgium, after failing to launch a campaign for the seat, is now highly unlikely.

Israel is expected to withdraw its bid for a seat on the c Security Council that it had hoped to secure for the first time this June, with chances of winning considered slim.
