The United Arab Emirates, under the direction of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, facilitated the rescue of the 11 members of a Jewish family in Yemen, whose lives were in imminent danger.

Russian Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar has revealed that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (who is de facto ruler of the UAE) accepted his request for Emirati forces engaged in Yemen’s civil war to rescue two Jewish families trapped there (11 people in all).

Rabbi Lazar revealed the rescue in a public letter of thanks to the crown prince that read:

Yemeni Orthodox man and airport worker were arrested of aiding in the operation that brought 19 Yemeni Jews, accompanied with their community’s ancient Torah, to Israel.

A Jewish man and an airport worker in Yemen have been arrested under the accusation of aiding in the smuggling of an antique torah from the war-torn country to Israel, the Jewish Chronicle reports.
