Anti-Israel Billboards on Display at NY Metro Train Stations

Ad campaign completely ignores facts, including the history of land ownership prior to 1948, and Israel’s repeated efforts to exchange land for peace.

Billboards with a series of maps that purport to show Israel’s continued and systematic expropriation of ‘Palestinian land’ have gone up at suburban New York train stations, including heavily Jewish populated Westchester County, the JTA reported.

The ads depict a succession of shrinking Palestinian territories in four maps and are accompanied by a statement that reads: “4.7 million Palestinians are classified as refugees by the United Nations.” The ad claims to cover “Palestinian loss of land” from 1946 to 2010. Continue Reading »

Divestment Fails—At least For Now

Maybe the divestment movement will recede among America’s churches, having failed to achieve a single major sustained success.   But bias against Israel almost certainly will persist in many denominational policy stances.

For much of the last decade, int’l anti-Israel activists have targeted U.S. mainline Protestant denominations with pleas for divesting from firms doing business with Israel. There was reason: Official mainline Protestantism, pro-Israel during Israel’s early decades, became sharply anti-Israel starting in the 1970s. Influenced by liberation theology, liberal church elites understood Palestinians as oppressed Third World victims, and Israel as the Western imperialists, backed by America.

And although losing members since the 1960s, mainline Protestant denominations still have billions of dollars in endowments and pension funds.

Experts: U.S. Cyber War on Iran is only Beginning

Experts believe the U.S. cyber war against Iran’s nuclear program is only just beginning and could escalate.

By Elad Benari, Canada

A U.S. cyber war against Iran’s nuclear program may have only just begun and could escalate with explosions triggered by digital sabotage, experts told AFP on Friday.

Although the Iranian regime remains vulnerable to more cyber attacks in the aftermath of the Stuxnet worm that disrupted its uranium enrichment work, Tehran may be receiving help from Russian proxies for its digital security, some analysts said.

According to David Albright, president of the Institute for Science and International Security, the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program is “really not that well protected” from more digital assaults and Iran will be hard-pressed to safeguard its uranium enrichment efforts from tainted software.
