A Moment Of Silence For The ‘Munich 11’: Politics As Usual For The IOC?

Jacques Rogge, IOC president, may have resolved that inclusion of the minute of silence is likely to fan the flames of the Arab-Israeli conflict and lead some nations to threaten to pull their delegations, if not actually do so.

With delegations from 205 countries, more than 100 heads of state, tens of thousands of journalists, hundreds of thousands of volunteers, and millions of fans planning to attend, this summer’s Olympic Games in London are seen as a prime backdrop for a terrorist attack. For the better part of the past decade, and armed with a £600 million budget, the stable of British security forces have been preparing to foil any such attempt.

In Another ‘Gesture,’ Israel Releases Terrorists’ Bodies to PA

Israel released the bodies of 91 terrorists to the Palestinian Authority early Thursday morning, but refused to release their identities.

Israel released the bodies of 91 terrorists to the Palestinian Authority early Thursday morning. The release of the bodies is another in an ongoing series of “gestures” by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to the PA, in an effort to encourage PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to agree to return to negotiations with Israel. So far, the PA has refused, although Abbas has accepted Israel’s “gestures.”

Some of the bodies have been held by Israel for decades. Among those to be handed over to the PA are the remains of seven terrorists who attacked the Savoy Hotel in Tel Aviv in 1975, the terrorist who killed six people at Cafe Hillel in Jerusalem in 2003, and terrorists who bombed buses in Ashkelon and Be’ersheva in 1996. Peace Now Head Upset over Latma Satire

Peace Now head says “right wingers” are libeling him “under the guise of a satirical skit.”

Yariv Oppenheimer, who heads the ultra-leftist Peace Now group, is angry about a satirical imitation of him, in the form of a character named “Yariv Googleheimer” on the Latma website.

While Googleheimer is a regular on Latma’s weekly Tribal Update shows, it seems a particularly strong satire in the latest Update caused Oppenheimer to lose his cool.

The skit is a version of a number from the 1960s musical Kazablan. The original version of the song – “We are All Jews” – celebrates Israelis’ solidarity with each other despite the differences between the ingathered communities. Continue Reading »

The moves comes just weeks after South Africa and Denmark said they would stop labeling products made in the settlements as Israeli.

Migros said the decision is in the interests of greater transparency, and is designed to help the customers to make an informed choice. Spokeswoman Monika Weibel said Tuesday that Migros doesn’t support boycott calls by pro-Palestinian groups but does want to let customers decide which products they want to buy. Israeli chess master’s tenth match in bid for world championship ends in draw

Championship will be decided in rapid games said to be Anand’s strength.

MOSCOW – Defending champion Viswanathan Anand forced challenger Boris Gelfand to think more deeply on Monday than during the previous 11 games, but the Israeli came up with a brilliant move that forced a 10th draw and sent the match into a tiebreaker.

The two grandmasters will now play four rounds of rapid chess, in which each player gets 25 minutes to make his moves, plus 10 extra seconds for every move. If that round doesn’t decide a winner, the pair will face off in several rounds of blitz chess – five minutes plus three extra seconds per move.

Three Dimensional Kits Make Israel’s Case Crystal Clear

A NY attorney creates a kit that shows Israel’s point of view, how Israel is crucial to world security and shows up the water theft lie.

Mark Langfan, a successful New York attorney and staunch supporter of Israel, came to the conclusion one day that the truth about Israel must become accessible and easily understood.

Not one for letting  things stop at the idea stage, the talented attorney created an original and easy to grasp visual method that can – in minutes – explain the problems Israel faces when it talks of “defensible borders”, expose the truth about the Palestinian Authority water resources canard and prove the way Israel’s safety affects the world.

The Enemy within: Media Ignores Second Arson Video

Israeli mainstream media showed video of Yitzhar event shot by Arabs but ignores video shot and published by the Jews.

Mainstream Israeli media sources provided further evidence Monday that they are unable or unwilling to report objectively on events in Judea and Samaria (Yehuda and Shomron), as news outlets appear determined to ignore new evidence of Arab wrongdoing in a confrontation near Yitzhar Saturday.

Arab video of the incident has been featured prominently, but video shot by Jews (below) and disseminated for publication Monday morning has been largely ignored in the hours since its release. The Jews say that it shows Arabs setting fire to their own fields, for propaganda purposes. Continue Reading »
