Iran’s supreme leader not optimistic about nuclear talks with world powers, criticizing the US for its close ties with Israel.

“The Zionist regime is an illegitimate and bastard regime,” Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday said of Israel, whose existence Tehran does not recognize.

Khamenei also criticized the United States for its close relations with Israel.

“The Americans have the highest indulgence towards the Zionists and they have to. But we do not share such indulgence,” AFP quoted Khamenei as saying.

Khamenei also reiterated his view that he is not optimistic about the outcome of nuclear talks but said he saw no downside to holding the negotiations.

NYT Report: NSA spied on Israel’s military targets

WASHINGTON – The National Security Agency spied on “high priority Israeli military targets,” a New York Times report says. Based on documents provided by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, the report shows how the agency shares information with governments that are themselves important NSA targets, “notably Israel.”

eBay removes Holocaust memorabilia found listed on its site

 

Britain’s Mail reports: Internet auction site eBay, removes 30 items, then offers to donate 25,000 pounds to charity over the inappropriate listing.

EBay has removed from its listings around 30 items of memorabilia purportedly from the Nazi Holocaust, including what was described as clothes worn by concentration camp victims, after a newspaper investigation discovered they were on sale on the e-commerce website, Britain’s Mail reported on Sunday.

ITF suspends Tunisia from Davis Cup for refusing to play Israeli

Jaziri’s brother reported he had been ordered to default the match.

I got a phone call from a friend asking if I wanted to photograph a wedding in Gaza. I told him I wasn’t interested but when he told me the groom was 15 years old and the bride was one year younger than him, I rushed to the location immediately.

Once AgainThe mortar exploded in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council. There were no physical injuries or damages.

Local residents said that the “Red Alert” siren which usually warns them about rocket attacks did not sound.

Israel to get 6 V-22 Osprey aircraft for Special Units

 

U.S. Defense Secretary Hagel says delivery of tilt-rotor aircraft would be ‘expedited’, meaning  as early as within next 2 years.

The United States will provide Israel with six 22 Osprey aircraft as part of its military aid, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced at an Anti-Defamation League conference in New York on Thursday.

The tilt-rotor aircraft were used by the US military in Afghanistan.

Gaza‘s lone power plant shut its generators on Friday due to a fuel shortage, a move that will likely increase already long blackout hours in the impoverished coastal territory run by the Islamist Hamas group.

Chairman of the Gaza Energy Authority Fathy Asheik-Khalil said the plant, which serves almost half of Gaza’s 1.8 million people, went offline after fuel became too scarce.

According the the new laws, which have already begun to undergo legal processing through the Ministry of Religious Services, daily prayer hours would be set for Jewish groups visiting Judaism’s holiest site. Currently, Jews have faced frequent attacks of discrimination against them by Israeli Police during Temple Mount visits, in accordance with a ban on Jewish religious activity there stemming from pressure from Palestinian Arab and Muslim groups.
