Palestinian driver claims he accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the breaks, & had on intentions to harm any of the Border Guard policemen.

Four Border Police soldiers were hit by a car, driven by a Palestinian, at a roadblock near Beit Ummar in Gush Etzion on Saturday.

Statistics: 50% of young drivers involved in fatal car accidents are Arab-Israelis

An Israel Police report reveals disturbing information regarding those involved in fatal car accidents in recent years. Arab mayor says high proportion of Arab fatalities are due to poor infrastructure & harsh economic situation.

Some 45% of those killed in car accidents since the beginning of the year are members of the Arab community in Israel, a police report released Monday says. Even worse, half of the young drivers involved in fatal car accidents are from the Arab sector.

Tragedy hits Tel Aviv: Building collapse, 1 dead, 5 injured

 

Ceiling collapses at 3-story building on Herzl St. where construction work was ongoing.

One man dies & 5 construction workers were extracted from the rubble and rushed to hospital.

One man was killed and five people were injured Wednesday when a ceiling in a three-story building in south Tel Aviv‘s Herzl Street collapsed.

The incident occurred as infrastructure work was being held at the site. One man in his thirties who sustained critical injuries died shortly after the collapse. Five others, all construction workers working at the site, were caught under the rubble and pulled out by rescue forces. Continue Reading »

6 Israelis killed in traffic accident outside Haifa

First report: Truck driver loses control of vehicle, crashes into 8 cars & pedestrians.

Emergency crews treating wounded at scene with at least 10 people reported injured.

At least six people were killed and a dozen were injured – two of them critically – in a multi-vehicle accident on the outskirts of the northern Israeli city of Haifa on Wednesday afternoon.

Corrie Family Seeking Justice in Upcoming Court Ruling

Rachel Corrie’s parents & sister hope the court will find the IDF responsible for her accidental 2003 death in Gaza.

Craig, Cindy and Sarah Corrie (Simpson) said on Sunday they hope that after nearly 10 years, the Haifa District Court will find the IDF responsible in the death of their daughter Rachel, 23, in Rafah, the southern Gaza Strip. A verdict is expected on Tuesday.

She was killed in disputed circumstances on March 16, 2003, while protesting an IDF home demolition.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Jerusalem Post, Cindy described herself as “naive” when the trial started two years ago about what it would look like and its ability to reveal more about what led to her daughter’s death and how the investigation was conducted.

1 killed, 10 injured in explosion at drilling site

One person was killed and ten were injured on Monday when a pipe of flowing hydrochloric acid exploded at a drilling installation near Ein Yahav in the Arava region of the South.
