The tech industry’s top ‘smart home innovations’ are selected each year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where the Israeli tech company Watergen, received the 2020 top honor for its home appliance Genny, that extracts potable water from thin air.

Palestinians honor former UN official who condemned Israel

 

Despot Mahmoud Abbas awards Jordanian Rima Khalaf, former UN official who resigned after refusing to retract report accusing Israel of apartheid, the ‘Palestine Medal of the Highest Honor’ in recognition of her ‘courage & support’ for the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian president has awarded his people’s highest honor to a former UN official who was forced to resign last week after authoring a report that accused Israel of establishing an “apartheid regime.”

Israeli ornithologist wins coveted BBC wildlife photography competition

 

Photographer Amir Ben-Dov of Israel wins top prize in BBC’s prestigious wildlife photography competition for his still photo of ‘A trio of red-footed falcons on a single branch.’

An Israeli photographer, Amir Ben-Dov, 53, has won a first place prize in annual The Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY) 2015 competition, one of the most prestigious and largest nature and environment photography competitions in the world.

The Tel Aviv bar scene gets int’l recognition with Tasting Room named the best-designed bar in the Mideast & Africa and the Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar ranked the best bar in the Mideast & Africa.

LONDON – Israel’s bar scene received some impressive international kudos this week.

While the world has become increasingly aware of – and enamored by – Israel’s thriving restaurant scene, the local bar scene has perhaps been overshadowed by this success, as well as by the popular nightclubs.

Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science Makes Top 10 in CWTS ranking

Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University in the Netherlands ranked Weizmann Institute 10th in world for scientific research quality.

An Israeli science institute has been ranked in tenth place in a list of international research institutions and universities.
