Newsweek: Israel wiretapped Clinton’s phone during Camp David peace talks

 

Newsweek reports Israel’s intelligence services eavesdropped on diplomatic phone calls when then-US President Clinton conducted private conversations with Syria’s Assad, as well as calls regarding the Camp David peace talks with Arafat.

Newsweek strikes again: A new report by Newsweek claims Israeli military’s intelligence unit 8200 eavesdropped on calls conducted by then US president Bill Clinton during a round of peace talks conducted between Israel and Syria, and the Camp David talks with the Palestinians in 2000.

Will Bill & Hillary Clinton have Jewish grandchildren?

 

Looking at the responses generated by Chelsea Clinton’s announcement, it’s anybody’s guess.

Chelsea Clinton’s announcement Thursday afternoon that she and Jewish hubby Marc Mezvinsky are expecting their first child has set off a fairly predictable wave of reactions Jewish-wise, not unlike the interest their 2010 wedding generated.

Interfaithfamily.com quickly seized the pregnancy as an “opportunity to share with ALL expecting parents” its various resources for new interfaith parents, including a booklet called “To Circumcise or Not: That is the Question.”

Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, The Jewish Press chose this headline: “Chelsea Clinton Pregnant With Non-Jewish Child.”

President Shimon Peres’ 90th birthday celebrations kicked off Monday evening at the Peres Academic Center in Rehovot with a speech by former US President Bill Clinton.

Following his address, Clinton said he did not see an alternative to a Palestinian state. The former American leader said an alternative was suggested to preserve Israel’s character as a Jewish and democratic state, and that no matter how many settlers put down roots in the West Bank, the Palestinian birth rate outpaced that of the Jews, so he believed Israel had a fundamental question to deal with. JNF cancels Clinton invitation by withdrawing $500,000 offer to attend

Following uproar in Israel & abroad, the JNF announced it will no longer pay former U.S. President $500,000 to speak at Peres’ Birthday gala.

The Jewish National Fund (Keren Kayemet Leyisrael) said on Thursday that it will not take part in an upcoming gala event attended by former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and will not pay him $500,000 to give a speech at this gala.

How much does a 45-minute lecture by former US President Bill Clinton cost? $500,000 is what The Jewish National Fund (JNF) has paid, one-year in advance, for the speech at the Peres Academic Center in Rehovot.

The event, which will be held on June 17, is part of the Israeli president’s 90th birthday celebrations.
