Christians that support State of Israel attacked by Lausanne Movement

While ignoring Muslim atrocities against African & mid-East Christians, the Lausanne Movement targets Christians who support Israel.

By Israel Today Staff

The Lausanne Movement, the world’s leading Christian evangelism movement, has once again taken aim at what it believes to be the sinful practice of Christian support for the State of Israel, or Christian Zionism.

Lausanne, like many evangelical groups today, fails to take on overt Muslim oppression of Christians, while leaping on each and every allegation of Israeli wrong-doing.

The Evangelical Christian vote will be major influence in US midterm elections

Religious influence on the American public sphere is steadily decreasing, but the vote of the Christian political right  is gaining momentum, according to polling. Traditionally, this active religious group has continually placed supporting Israel at the forefront of their political agenda.

One picture captured my heart this past Sunday. The sight of Pastor John Hagee, the leader of tens of millions of evangelicals in the United States and around the world, and Rabbi Aryeh Scheinberg, a great scholar and veteran rabbi of the Orthodox community in San Antonio, embracing during a joint prayer at the Western Wall.

Meet the Christian Zionists

Evangelical Christians by the millions are working day & night to protect Israel. They stage conventions, they exert political pressure on their representatives in Washington & they raise awareness in the world on issues like the Iranian threat or on Palestinian incitement, and they do this not only in the name of justice, but because it is an integral part of their faith in Jesus.

While conversing at a convention center in Washington with Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, the chief rabbi of Efrat, I asked him whether he considered what we were witnessing at that convention center as a religious or historic revolution, after 2,000 years of Christianity.
