The Counter-Terrorism Bureau at the National Security Council on Thursday issued a repeated travel warning to the Sinai Peninsula, calling on all Israelis who are planning to travel to or who are currently staying in Sinai to return to Israel immediately.

A travel warning to the area has been in place for a long time, however the Bureau is now reiterating its call, citing terror groups’ intention to carry out attacks against Israeli citizens. Continue Reading »

The air strike was carried out in a coordinated maneuver together with IDF artillery forces as a Hamas terrorist cell was preparing their attack, aimed at Israeli soldiers involved in routine activity near the Gaza security fence.

The terrorists, all of whom are members of the Palestinian Authority, were in position to launch an anti-tank missile the IDF soldiers at the time of the air strike. Continue Reading »

The Israel Air Force struck a Hamas terror base and an additional Hamas terror target in the Gaza Strip overnight Monday, according to the IDF Spokesman’s Office.

The IAF action came after a sniper from Gaza fired on Israeli cars in the South, causing damage to property earlier on Monday. A rocket was also fired from Gaza into the Ashekelon Coast Regional Council area.

The Israel Air Force struck targets in the Gaza Strip for a second time on Monday evening after an earlier attack killed two Islamic Jihad operatives.

Palestinian sources claimed that the IAF strike killed two additional Palestinians in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, bringing the total number of dead killed in air strikes on Monday to four. The IDF Spokesman’s Office stated that the airstrike targeted terrorists in the midst of firing a rocket at Israeli civilians.

Haifa man named as victim of terrorist attack on Egypt border

Saeed Fashafshe, 35, was killed in a terrorists attack along Israel’s border with Egypt.

 

 

The Defense Ministry contractor killed in a terrorist attack along Israel’s southern border early Monday has been identified as Saeed Fashafshe, a 35-year-old Israeli Arab resident of Haifa.

Fashafshe, who was married and a father of four, worked  for a company owned by his brother which was contracted by Defense Ministry for jobs along the Egyptian border.

Saeed Fashafshe was killed in a terrorists attack along Israel's border with Egypt on June 18, 2012.

An initial investigation revealed that three terrorists penetrated the fence along the border between the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula, placed an explosive device on Philadelphi Strip near Be’er Milka, and waited for Israeli vehicles to pass by. Continue Reading »
