Israel made history once again when Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan announced Jamal Hakroush is to be promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner and is to set up new Arab branches of Israel Police.

Jerusalem outraged at State Dept.’concern’ about disproportionate force against armed attackers

 

Israel’s Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan: “The comments by the US State Department spokesman are so crazy, deceitful & baseless, that I expect President Obama & US Secretary of State Kerry to distance themselves from them, and to clarify the US position today.”

Jerusalem reacted furiously Thursday to State Department spokesman John Kirby’s statement that Jerusalem was not maintaining the status quo on the Temple Mount and accused it of using proportionate force to stop the wave of stabbing attacks.

Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon signed an order Wednesday declaring the groups of Islamists who regularly harass Jews on the Temple Mount – the male “Murabitun” and female “Murabitat” – as illegal organizations.

Israeli Minister Seeks to Outlaw Groups That Monitor & Harass Jews on Temple Mount

 

The PA condemned Public Security Minister Erdan’s request Monday, asking Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon to declare the Murabitat group, that shouts obscenities & incites against Jews, and who physically block non-Muslim visitors access to the holy site, as an unlawful association.

The Murabitat, which is active on the Temple Mount and poses as “a religious studies group,” is funded by the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, headed by “Al-Aqsa Sheikh” Raed Salah.

Time For U.S. to Recognize Israel’s Sovereignty Over Golan Heights

Israeli Ministers say a strategic discussion about policy, such as int’l backing of Israel’s presence & rule of the Golan needs to be decided, because the alternative is chaos: ‘Bashar the murderer’ with Hezbollah, or ISIS & Jabhat al-Nusra.

Israel’s Newest Minister Gilad Erdan Takes Aim at BDS Movement

Erdan’s notice on Facebook explained his reasons for joining Netanyahu’s coalition and objectives he plans on tackling.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu completed the process of forming his fourth government Monday when his no. 2 in Likud, MK Gilad Erdan, was appointed as minister of public security, strategic affairs and public diplomacy, 11 days after the rest of the cabinet.

The appointment unanimously passed a telephone vote in the cabinet and a 58-55 vote in the Knesset.

Tourism Minister Yariv Levin willingly gave up the Public Security portfolio and Immigrant Absorption Minister Ze’ev Elkin reluctantly relinquished the Strategic Affairs Ministry. Continue Reading »

Sirens sounds throughout Israel as part of Home Front Command’s national drill

Everyone called on to actively participate in national exercise by going to their protected areas when  sirens are sounded at 12:30 pm in afternoon & 7:05 this evening.

 

No sirens will be heard in areas bordering Gaza, in order not to cause panic.

One of the two sirens part of the annual emergency exercise sounded at noon on Monday. The first alarm sounded at 12:30 pm and was meant primarily as a workplace and educational institution exercise. The second siren will sound vated at 7:05 pm, so families can practice in their homes.

Following reports of the firing of a rocket from Lebanese territory toward Metula and keeping in mind Israeli worries of the flow of advanced weaponry from Syria to Hezbollah, the Home Front Command has called on citizens to actively participate in the exercise and enter protected spaces.
