BDS couldn’t but Hamas rockets cancel Neil Young’s concert in Israel

Neil Young, Canada’s rock legend, was forced to cancel his Thursday’s Tel Aviv performance due to Israel Police’s decision based on the lack of public safety during Hamas’ ongoing rocket fire from Gaza.

Legendary Canadian musician Neil Young’s concert in Israel, which was scheduled to take place at Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park on July 17, has been canceled by the Israeli authorities due to the IDF’s operation in Gaza and the ongoing rocket fire from the Strip.

“It is with deep regret that we are forced to announce the cancellation of the Neil Young and Crazy Horse show,

Israeli Children’s Rocket Alert Song Goes Viral

Developed by Joint Distribution Committee in 2008 for a Sderot kindergarten teacher, who wanted to do something to help the children in her class deal with air raid sirens and the ongoing rocket attacks against Israel.

This song is that much more relevant today.

 

The recent barrage of rockets fired by Hamas at Israel has revived the fortunes of a video developed in 2008 as part of a trauma intervention effort in Sderot by the Joint Distribution Committee.

Every year, and this year’s event in Copenhagen is no exception, geopolitics play out in some way at the Eurovision Song Contest. This time, it’s the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen, a member of the Danish parliament, attacked the organizers of the competition at the opening ceremony for not inviting the Palestinian Authority to participate even though Israel is, Turkish newspaper the Daily Sabah reported.

Rolling Stones to fetch $6.7 million for Israel concert

 

The Rolling Stones are expected to draw a crowd of 70,000 on June at Hayarkon Park, Tel Aviv.

 

“You can’t always get what you want,” goes the classic Rolling Stones song. But when it comes to their June 4 concert in Israel, the British rock legends have certainly come close, with a guarantee of $6.7 million for that one performance.

Promoter Shuki Weiss, who has reportedly said in the past that he would retire after bringing the Stones to Israel, beat other promoters to the punch by guaranteeing the astronomical sum, according to Israel’s Channel 2.

No matter how many tickets are sold, the Stones will earn $6.7 million for this single appearance at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv.

Rolling Stones rocking its way to Israel – June 10

 

It’s nearly official – Mick Jagger & company are finally going to perform on June 10 at Ramat Gan Stadium.

 

 

The Rolling Stones will perform on June 10 at Ramat Gan Stadium, according to a source close to the production. According to the source, the show will be promoted by Shuki Weiss.

Weiss’s office responded to a query by saying, “If there’s something to announce, we’ll announce it.”

The entertainment trade magazine Pollstar reported last week that the Stones were going to expand their ’14 On Fire’ tour of Abu Dhabi and the Far East this month into a full-fledge European tour in the spring and summer.

A song from an Israeli singer with Yemenite roots – but who has never visited the country – has become a surprise hit in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, the Economist reported on Tuesday.

Zion Golan’s song “Sana’a al-Yemen” is frequently heard blaring from stereos and minibus speakers. “Come with me to Sanaa,” Golan sings in Yemeni Arabic. “Sanaa, my home, you’ll like it.”

The gag order was lifted Wednesday morning on the name of the famous Israeli singer at the center of an underage sex scandal.

It is now permissible to publish that Eyal Golan is the singer suspected in having sexual relations with minors.

Golan was taken to Tel Aviv District’s central unit Wednesday morning, where he was questioned on the suspicions against him.

Performers Defy BDS Boycotters & Will Perform in Israel

Tom Jones to perform in Israel

Welsh Pop Star to sing in Tel Aviv

 

 

The latest big-name musician to commit to a concert in Israel is Tom Jones,  according to The Times of Israel. The Welsh pop legend, 73, is slated to hit Tel Aviv’s Nokia Arena on October 26.

Audiences can look forward to hearing classics like “It’s Not Unusual,” “Love Me Tonight,” and “Kiss.”

British rock legend Eric Burdon has canceled a scheduled August 1 appearance of Eric Burdon and The Animals in Israel after receiving threats, his management announced Tuesday.

“We’ve been receiving mounting pressure, including numerous threatening emails, daily.

The last thing I intend do is put Eric in jeopardy,” said a statement released by Burdon’s management. Burdon, 71, and his reconstituted Animals were scheduled to appear at the Zappa Shoni Amphitheater on a bill with 1980s local favorites Tislam.
