An Israeli system that protects planes from surface-to-air missiles has passed a test conducted by NATO, which could open up new markets for the technology in the alliance’s 28 member states, defense electronics manufacturer Elbit Systems said Monday.
The system, which can jam incoming heat-seeking missiles with a laser, is already in use by civilian Israeli carriers.

To perform in Israel, there’s plenty ofobstacles for international artists and bands coming to Israel, including the cancellations of scheduled concerts due to security concerns.
By Ami Friedman
It’s not easy being a music lover in Israel. When the next conflict, or even war, could be just around the corner, the status of an expected concert can be confusing amidst a maelstrom of different reports, rumors, confirmations, and cancellations.
Even though the past summer was relatively quiet, with the current wave of violence seemingly waiting for Kanye West and Bon Jovi to get off stage before fully erupting, Israeli concert producers don’t exactly have it easy during times of calm either. Continue Reading »
