10 Swiss MPs: Gov’t Funding ‘Breaking the Silence’ a scandal & misuse of tax money

“Disinformation & the political ideology of hatred are being directed against the Jewish state…(by) one-sided, unbalanced non-scientific reports.”  The 10 Swiss parliamentarians said the NGO belongs to the BDS movement and its work is “propaganda.”

The opening of the Breaking the Silence exhibit in Zurich on Thursday unleashed a firestorm of criticism from Swiss politicians who say the country’s Foreign Ministry misused public funds to finance a hate-filled exhibit targeting the Jewish state.

“We condemn sharply the sponsorship of Breaking the Silence, with public monies through the EDA [Swiss Foreign Ministry] and the Zurich Finance Department, and expect in future a careful examination of projects and those organizations standing behind such projects before Swiss taxpayer money is misused,” 10 Swiss MPs from the parliamentary Swiss-Israel parliamentary group said in a statement dated Tuesday. As EU countries seek publicly ‘2 State-Solution’, they paid $27M to NGOs to Undermine it

According to Israel’s Foreign Ministry, NGO Transparency Law now prove foreign governmental bodies have paid left-wing Israeli groups $27M that was used to promote anti-Israel activities that hinder normalization efforts with the Palestinians.

Some 24 Israeli non-governmental political advocacy organizations dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict reported a total of nearly 105 million shekels ($27 million) in direct and indirect funding from foreign governments, especially in the European Union, from 2012 to 2014, according to an NGO Monitor report from earlier this year.

At the UN’s ‘Theater of the Absurd’: Hamas-linked group granted NGO status

Israel’s mission accuses the United Nations of accepting the nefarious PRC organization, describing it as the ‘organizational & a coordinating wing of Hamas in Europe’.

Israel on Monday accused the United Nations of granting “UN non-governmental organization status” to an association linked to militant Palestinian group Hamas that it said promotes “anti-Israel propaganda in Europe.”

Israel’s UN mission issued a statement condemning the decision, by the 19-member UN Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, to approve the application of the Palestinian Return Center (PRC), an organization based in Britain.

The statement said that in 2010 Israel banned the PRC because of its ties to Hamas, labeling it “an organizational and a coordinating wing of Hamas in Europe” with members that include senior Hamas officials. Continue Reading »

The Jerusalem-based organization NGO Monitor delivered a presentation on Tuesday to members of the European Parliament, which outlined irregular funding practices for EU funded NGOs in the Middle East, including organizations that seek to delegitimize Israel.

According to NGO Monitor, EU funds are going to organizations involved in anti-Israel boycotts and violent demonstrations, which “undermine the EU’s efforts to secure peace in the Middle East.”

The Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor released today a report titled “Blood Libels and BDS” detailing the antisemitic rhetoric and activity of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which will be presented to the participants of the Global Forum in Jerusalem later this week.

In a decision concerning a petition brought by Jerusalem-based research institute NGO Monitor, the European Union Court of Justice confirmed that the EU fails to act transparently in its funding of non-government organization (NGOs). The Court’s decision, issued November 27, 2012, permitted these secret procedures, in violation of transparency and democracy norms, said NGO Monitor.

The NGO Monitor watchdog group has filed a submission to the UN Human Rights Council’s (UNHRC) “independent international fact-finding Mission on the Israeli Settlements,” expressing concern over the Mission’s working methods and calling for compliance with fact-finding standards and ethical principles. The submission demands, at a minimum, strict adherence to the principles of impartiality and objectivity, transparency in all interactions with NGOs and professional guidelines for assessing the credibility and factual and legal claims of NGOs.
