REPORT: Israel Number 4 Among US’s Top Most “Unacceptable” Countries

Last week, media survey by ‘Foreign Policy’, found that US State Department finds Israel almost as unsavory as Syria, Iran & North Korea!

The US State Department in 2014 condemned Israel as one of the most “unacceptable” countries in the world, just behind North Korea.

According to an article published last week by Foreign Policy, over the past year the Obama Administration State Department cited Israel for “unacceptable behavior” more times than Pakistan, Russia, Egypt, China, Afghanistan and Iraq. The article examined how many times a country’s actions were condemned as “unacceptable,” and Israel came in fourth, right after Syria, Iran and North Korea.

Report: Israeli teens unequaled in use of technology

Despite being consumed by technology with about 90% of those between 13-18 that use WhatsApp, the report also finds the number of teenagers who  volunteer for community projects on a regular basis climbed from 17.8% in 2004 to 46.4% in 2011.

Ramallah Survey: 66% of Palestinians Fear Their Own Leaders

 

 

Will a future State of Palestine really be democratic & free? Not according to two-thirds of Palestinian Arabs (especially the Christian Palestinians), who say they fear their own rulers.

Two-thirds of the Palestinian population in Judea and Samaria are afraid to criticize Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, according to a survey conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Ramallah.

The results of the poll come in the wake of Abbas arresting the leader of the strongest union in the Palestinian-controlled territories.

Of 250 Cities in Competition, Tel Aviv Awarded World’s ‘Smartest City’

At this year’s event, Tel Aviv set up a booth showcasing the city’s various digital projects, such as city-wide WiFi service, location-based technology tools, adaptation for smart phones, and the activation of public round tables, discussions and a collaborative budget.

Two Defense Reports Conclude: IAF is Ranked World’s #1 Air Force

Latest research carried out by two respected military analysts claim Israel’s Air Force is the best air force on the planet, and the IDF still holds top position as the most dominant army in the Middle East.

The Israeli Air Force is “the best in the world,” and the IDF is the most powerful land force in the region, according to new military research projects carried out by Patrick Megahan of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Military Edge Project, and Chris Harmer, a senior naval analyst at the ISW (Institute for Study of War).

The IDF is officially recognized as ‘Strongest army in the Middle East’

 

Business Insider puts IDF at top of list of 15 strongest regional armies, saying Israel has space assets, drones, advanced jets, nuclear weapons, & “the Israeli Air Force is the best in the world.”

Although the balance of power and geopolitical interests have rapidly shifted in the Middle East in recent years, it appears Israel has managed to maintain — at least for the time being — its military supremacy, according to the news website Business Insider. On Monday the website published its ranking of the 15 strongest armies in the region, and put the Israel Defense Forces at the top.

Study: Intel, Google top two employers sought after by graduates in Israel

 

The survey was conducted among 2,200 participating undergraduate students in academic colleges & universities throughout Israel.

A majority of students want to work at hi-tech companies upon graduation, according to a BDI-COFACE study released on Monday.

Thirty-one percent of college and university students want to work at hi-tech companies even if they are not studying in the exact sciences. Fifteen percent said they want to work in services, 13% in finance, and 4% in education.

Survey: Europeans blame Israel & Hamas equally for Gaza violence

Despite considerable efforts at hasbara, Europeans believe Israel & Hamas share responsibility for the last round of violence, with 53% of Germans blaming Israel for escalation compared to only 39% in the UK.

Public opinion polls conducted by the Foreign Ministry in Europe’s three most important countries – the United Kingdom, Germany and France – reveal that its residents hold Israel and Hamas responsible in equal degree for the latest bout of violence in the Gaza Strip.

Poll: 24% of Israeli Jews boycott Arab businesses

Globes reported that latest survey finds 51% of respondents would boycott businesses that employ people who criticize the IDF.

 

Nearly a quarter of Israeli Jewish consumers are boycotting Arab businesses, a poll released on Tuesday found.

Some 24 percent of respondents said they refuse to patron Arab shops, down from 47 percent during a similar Geocartography poll conducted during the Gaza war, Globes reported.

However, the figures should be taken with a grain of salt: According to the poll, only 29 percent of respondents said they did in fact boycott Arab businesses during the war, meaning that 18 percent out of the 47 percent polled during the hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian factions in Gaza did not abide by their professed convictions.

Global Wealth Report ranks Israel 11th for 2014

Israel has been ranked 11th in the 2014 Global Wealth Report, composed by multinational financial services company Allianz. The report, which reviews the average financial assets per capita, in euros, across the world’s 20 leading economies, was released over the weekend.

The Munich-based Allianz is an insurance and asset management giant, servicing over 83 million customers in more than 70 countries.

JTA – During the past 18 months, the governing coalition in Israel has passed legislation to extend the nation’s mandatory conscription to the Haredi — a group currently exempted from military service — and Knesset leaders have advanced bills that would allow for civil unions and ease restrictions on Jewish conversions.

Poll: Majority of Likud voters want PM to insure future Palestine state

 

According to the survey 2/3 of the Israeli public believes a violent confrontation will engulf the region if a final-status agreement is not reached in the coming few years.

A majority of voters who supported Likud Beytenu believe that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu should launch a diplomatic initiative that would eventually yield a Palestinian state alongside Israel, according to a new poll commissioned by the Geneva Initiative.

The survey, which was done for the Geneva Initiative by New Wave Research, found that 53 percent of Israelis who cast their votes for the ruling party and a majority of the general public (58 percent) believe that the government should make a renewed push toward a settlement with the Palestinians in the wake of the seven-week military campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Compulsory conscription into the IDF has not lowered educational attainment rates, as 46% of Israeli adults had attained tertiary qualification in 2012, putting them #4 in global placement according to data recently released by the OECD.
