Israel’s hotels ranked among world’s best

 

Waldorf Astoria says it was “thrilled” over result of survey after learning its hotel in Jerusalem placed 1st regionally and 7th globally in Conde Nast Traveler survey.

Less than two years after its opening, the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem made it to seventh place in the Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2015, a global survey of travelers that ranks the world’s top 100 hotels and resorts. Conde Nast Traveler is considered to be the world’s most prestigious tourism-related magazine. The survey’s results were announced earlier this week.

Poll: ‘Forgotten’ right-wing extremist, Liberman, deemed “the most capable leader” in Israel

 

Although having been written off by many Israeli commentators 6 months ago, a recent TV2 poll showed that, perhaps unsurprisingly, the Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman is the best man to end current wave of Palestinian terrorist attacks.

When Yisrael Beytenu party leader Avigdor Liberman declared last April that he would not be joining Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s coalition, many commentators saw it as the final, vengeful act of a political has-been.

Survey: Vast majority of Israeli reservists feel IDF ‘service is a duty’

 

Survey by IDF’s Behavioral Science Department finds overwhelming majority of reservists believe in Israel’s army, have faith in their commanders, and say IDF can secure decisive victory in future conflict.

The vast majority of IDF reservists — 83% — believe in the military’s ability to secure a decisive victory should hostilities with Gaza Strip-based terrorist groups resume, a survey by the Behavioral Science Department at the IDF’s Personnel Directorate has found.

The IDF surveys reservists twice a year to gauge issues believed to affect their motivation to perform reserve service.

The latest poll was held on the one-year anniversary of Operation Protective Edge and following an IDF decision to release 100,000 reservists from active duty and divert funds to training regular army units. Continue Reading »

Poll: Despite 25% Public Support for Iran Deal, Senators Ignore Constituents

 

While only 25% support White House’s Iran Deal, 2 more Democratic Senators acquiesce to pressure from ‘Lame Duck President’ rather than represent their local states.

A clear majority of Americans — 55% — oppose the nuclear deal with Iran, while only 25% support it, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll published this week.

The poll also found that 56% of Americans think the deal will make the world less safe, while only 28% think it will make the world safer.

Global Index Ranks Israel 4th Best Country To Raise Children

 

Austria comes in best country, followed by Finland, Sweden, and then Israel according to the Family Life Index, carried out by the Inter Nations institute surveying 41 countries.

Austria has been ranked as the best place in the world for expat families to bring up their children, according to the Family Life Index carried out by the Inter Nations institute.

Finland and Sweden came second and third respectively, with Israel finding itself in a very respectable fourth place after scoring highly in categories such as availability of childcare and education as well as family well-being.

Survey: Most Gazans dissatisfied with Hamas

Survey: 71% of Israeli Jews feel the world unjustly condemns Israel by double standards

IDI & Tel Aviv University’s latest report shows Israelis feeling more isolated and “The countries of the world make moral demands of Israel that they do not make of other countries.”

The Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) and Tel Aviv University have released the monthly Peace Index poll which has a primary focus on three major issues: attitudes toward Jewish settlement in the territories, the diplomatic arena, and the distribution of cabinet posts in the government.

Survey: 82% of Saudis don’t see Israel as greatest threat

Israel is no longer considered as a major threat to Saudi Arabia & the majority of Saudis surveyed are willing to live in peace with Israel under the Saudi-Arab Peace Initiative.

Most Saudis support the Arab Peace Initiative with Israel and say their country must obtain nuclear weapons if Iran does, a survey conducted by the Institute for Policy and Strategy at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya shows.

Israel ranked 5th for country with highest gasoline prices

Israel takes 5th place with an average of $233 a month on gasoline, which equals 11% of the average Israeli monthly salary.

 

Israel is the fifth-priciest country in the world when it comes to how much consumers pay for unleaded gasoline, an international study by the financial website This is Money shows.

Survey: Young Arabs Less Obsessed with Israel-Palestinian conflict than ever before

The 7th annual Arab youth survey has shown that common attitudes of the past decade are shifting drastically away from the Israel-Arab conflict.

A new survey of Arab youth promises to be the clearest insight yet into public attitudes in the Middle East today. The Seventh Annual ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller Arab Youth Survey found that young Arabs are opening up to new ideas and are changing their attitudes towards the West.

The pollsters questioned 3,500 Arabs between the ages of 18 and 24. The respondents came from 16 different countries and were split evenly between men and women. Continue Reading »

SDSN Survey: Israel holds 11th place in ‘Happiest Country in the World’ for 2014

The United States falls behind Israel, ranking in at number 15.

The annual World Happiness Report published on Thursday by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has ranked Israel as the 11th happiest country in the world in 2014 for the second year in a row.

Switzerland was the happiest country on earth in 2014, followed closely by Iceland, Norway, Denmark and Canada. Rounding out the top 10 are Finland, Netherlands, Sweden, New Zealand and Australia. The United States trailed behind, coming in at number 15.

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll has found the American public’s support for a Palestinian state is at a 20-year low, as only 39% of Americans support the creation of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, while 36% oppose the notion. Some 25% of those polled said they had no opinion on the matter.

CNN poll stands alone: Majority of Americans against Netanyahu Congress speech

Contrary to earlier surveys conducted by YouGov/Huffington Post, a CNN poll finds majority of respondents think that without first having consulted with the White House, House Speaker Boehner should not have extended any invitation to Netanyahu to speak before Congress.

The Chatham House-YouGov survey, which documents British attitudes toward the United Kingdom’s international relations polices, was published last week.

In a section titled “General public attitudes towards other countries” respondents were asked to name the countries they “feel especially favorable towards” and “especially unfavorable towards.”
