Sweet 6 yr-old Phylis misses first day of first grade to travel all the way from Zambia to Wolfson Medical Center just outside of Tel Aviv, for lifesaving surgery courtesy of Save a Child’s Heart.

Over two million Israeli students returned to school on September 1, including thousands of excited children entering first grade and attending school for the first time.

Gaza’s civilians receive uninterrupted medical care in Israel ‘without discrimination’

Even as Gaza Strip-based terrorists continue to fire rockets at Israel, Palestinian children are receiving medical care at the Edith Wolfson Medical Center in the central Israeli city of Holon.

On Tuesday, as on every Tuesday for the past 18 years, children from Gaza and the West Bank arrived at the hospital for routine medical checks as part of the Israeli-based international humanitarian project Save a Child’s Heart, which provides life-saving medical care for children born with heart defects.

Iraqi children come to Israel for heart surgery

 

‘Save a Child’s Heart’, 

an Israel-based int’l organization, coordinates arrival of children, 1, 4 & 5 at a time to the Israeli hospital.

180 Iraqi children have been treated in Israeli operating rooms in past decade.

Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar approved Sunday the arrival of three Iraqi children – aged one, four and five – to Israel, in order to receive lifesaving medical care at the Edith Wolfson Medical Center in Holon. The three are expected to arrive at the Israeli hospital within the next few days.

Sa’ar approved the children’s entrance to the country on grounds of humanitarian aid, promoted by Save a Child’s Heart, an Israel-based international project, which has so far coordinated cardiac surgeries for some 3,000 children from 44 countries. Continue Reading »

1 dead & 12 in serious condition at Tel Aviv’s Marathon

Magen David Adom: One runner dead, 12 in serious condition after falling from heat exhaustion at Tel Aviv’s annual Marathon.

Over 20 participants were taken to hospital suffering from heat stroke.

Tragedy at Tel Aviv Marathon: A 30-year old runner has died and 12 others were seriously injured on Friday morning in the Tel Aviv Marathon.

According to Magen David Adom medics, the injured are currently unconscious and undergoing artificial respiration, a few even requiring CPR.

The first aid tent at the starting point has become a field hospital with more and more runners arriving at the scene on stretchers due to suspected dehydration. Continue Reading »
