The strike killed Iran’s General Ali Allahdadi, plus 5 from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Jihad Mughniyeh, son of Hezbollah’s former military commander the late Imad Mughniyeh, and 5 Hezbollah terrorists, including a Hezbollah commander.

An Israeli strike on Syria that killed six members of the Iranian-proxy Hezbollah terrorist organization also killed six Iranian solders and commanders, including an Iranian general.

“The Israeli strike killed six Iranian soldiers, including commanders, as well as the six members of Hezbollah. They were all in a convoy of three cars,” a source close to the Shia Islamist group told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Israel’s President Calls on Abbas to Come to Jerusalem Instead of Going to The Hague

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Sunday urged Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to renew peace talks instead of pursuing efforts at the International Criminal Court (ICC) or United Nations.

“There is no other way than direct negotiations. Unilateral steps will not solve the conflict, but just give more power to the extremists,” Rivlin was quoted by AFP as having said during a visit by a delegation of U.S. senators headed by Republican John McCain.

“I call upon President Abbas: instead of going to The Hague or to the United Nations, come to Jerusalem.

Seven residents of the Galilee were arrested in December and charged with establishing a local chapter of the Islamic State group, Israeli media reported on Sunday, as the courts lifted a gag order on the case. The seven, all Israeli Arabs, have been charged with affiliation with a terrorist organization and contact with a foreign agent.

According to the indictment submitted Sunday to the court, the suspects regularly met with a well-known Salafi sheikh in northern Israel to discuss the principles of the extremist Islamic sect.

Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon refused to say anything Sunday evening about the reported IAF strike in the Syrian Golan that killed Jihad Mughniyeh, a senior Hezbollah man whose father, Imad Mughniyeh, was also assassinated by Israel.

However, Yaalon did respond to the reports from Hezbollah about the incident, and said that they contradicted Hezbollah’s own official claims, made in recent years, that they do not operate in the Golan.

The son of former Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh along with five other terrorists were killed in an alleged Israeli air strike in Syria on Sunday, Hezbollah-linked media reported.

Sources linked to the Islamist organization said that Jihad Mughniyeh, who oversaw the Syrian Golan Heights division of the group, was killed in the attack.

“Hezbollah’s leadership will decide how to respond to this new Israeli aggression, but this strike is unthinkable,” a statement from the group read, according to the Al-Akhbar news site.

Egyptian security forces recently discovered a 1.2 kilometer (0.75 mile) long tunnel near Rafah under the border between the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip that was used to smuggle weapons, fuel, food and other consumer goods.

According to Palestinian news agency Maan, which cited a senior Egyptian security official, the tunnel opening was discovered in a bedroom in a house on the Egyptian side of Rafah.

AFP cited an Israeli security sources as saying the strike had targeted purported terrorists who were planning an attack on the Jewish state.

The senior official, speaking from Ramallah to Walla! News on condition of anonymity, said that the PA has announced the ultimatum through Jordan and Egypt.

The US State Department late on Friday condemned the International Criminal Court’s decision to open a preliminary probe into possible war crimes in Palestinian territories, calling it a “tragic irony.”

“We strongly disagree with the ICC Prosecutor’s action today. As we have said repeatedly, we do not believe that Palestine is a state and therefore we do not believe that it is eligible to join the ICC,” State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said in a statement.
