Israel assessing intel: Was UAV headed to Dimona?

IDF collects remnants of UAV as security establishment examines the possibility it was sent by Hezbollah to photograph Dimona reactor

IDF fears drones will be used to hit strategic sites

Ron Ben-Yishai

After Israeli fighter jets shot down a drone over the Yatir forest in the south Mount Hebron area on Saturday, the army is trying to figure out what its destination was. One of the possibilities the security establishment is looking into is that the unmanned aircraft, which was apparently Iranian-made, was on its way to test the option of infiltrating the nuclear reactor in Dimona, perhaps even to examine the option of targeting the plant in a future conflict. Video: Arab Youths Disrupt Bus Ride Just for Fun

Just Another day in Be’er Sheva: 2 young Arab boys on bus go from loud singing to rock throwing.

By Gil Ronen

It was a scene typical of the times in Israel. On a Be’er Sheva bus carrying mostly elderly Jews, an Arab boy began singing out loud in a way that seemed calculated to convey his disdain for his fellow passengers.

Repeated attempts by passengers and the driver to get the boy to pipe down only resulted in more disruption, as the boy was joined by another, younger boy, in their annoying song.

Push came to shove, shove came to kick, and the boys were taken off the bus, which drove away – but not before the boys had thrown a rock that smashed a hole in the pane of one of its doors. Continue Reading »

Dore Gold: Iran & its Nuclear Deception

Khomeini’s ideological legacy for the Islamic republic is to protect its nuclear program. He knew that Iran’s use of lies in its diplomacy in the past had been effective. One of the problems with Iran’s use of deception is that the West refuse to accept that they’ve been duped.

By Dore Gold

In a rare admission two weeks ago, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Fereydoon Abbasi, was quoted in al-Hayat saying the Iranian government had provided false information in the past to protect its nuclear program. Abbasi accused Britain’s foreign intelligence service, MI-6, of spying on Iran to justify the fact that it had decided to lie to the international community.

What may be the end of a beautiful friendship

It began when Netanyahu wanted a unity gov’t and Livni refused, but Barak wanted to remain defense minister. Then for several years, they were inseparable, right until Barak realized that the elections were coming.

By Mati Tuchfeld

It is amazing how many people have been waiting for this moment. For four years they have been looking on, green with envy, at this unlikely, nearly mythical relationship between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak. They have been waiting with baited breath for this relationship to end badly. In the eyes of senior cabinet ministers, especially ones from Likud, the close ties between Netanyahu and Barak have brought almost nothing but calamity.
