Palestinians stop producing fake coronavirus masks, hand sanitizer

Over 40 Palestinians arrested on charges of manufacturing ineffective face masks, useless hand sanitizers and price gouging according to a PA official.

The Palestinian Authority has in the past two weeks closed several factories and businesses whose owners were caught manufacturing unlicensed face masks and hand sanitizers that were being sold to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

More than 40 suspects have been arrested on charges of fraud, price gouging and manufacturing unlicensed products, said an official with the PA Ministry of National Economy.

The crackdown came in response to complaints from many Palestinians that the products did not meet the standards and regulations of the PA Ministry of Health and Ministry of National Economy, the official said. Continue Reading »

The radical left organization B’Tselem claimed on Thursday that the Civil Administration had confiscated tents used as an emergency clinic for Palestinian Arab COVID-19 patients in the Ibizik district of the Jordan Valley.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea and Samaria denied the claim and attacked the radical organization, “We regret to see that the human rights organization cynically seeks to exploit a global crisis in order to distribute Fake News while joint efforts between Israel and the PA are underway to curb the [effects of the] coronavirus.” Continue Reading »

2 Gazans returning from Pakistan, tested positive for coronavirus

Aside from the first 2 cases of confirmed coronavirus entering into Gaza, more than 1,270 Palestinians are quarantined in Gaza hospitals, hotels and schools after returning to the terrorist enclave via Israel and Egypt.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced early Sunday that two residents who returned recently from Pakistan to the Gaza Strip tested positive for the coronavirus, the first cases to be diagnosed in the Palestinian enclave.

Israeli Pharmaceutical donates 10 million tablets to US hospitals

The Israeli Drugmaker, Teva Pharmaceutical rushes to send its Malaria drug to Covid-19 patients in U.S. hospitals following encouraging results from China and France. Teva said 6 million tablets will be delivered to U.S. hospitals by March 31, and more than 10 million in a month.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. said it plans to donate more than 10 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine sulfate, a malaria drug touted by President Donald Trump as a potential treatment for the coronavirus, to help U.S. hospitals meet a potential surge in demand.

The Israeli company is one of the world’s largest makers of hydroxychloroquine, a less-toxic version of chloroquine, which is used in malaria, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Continue Reading »

Hezbollah chief quarantined after subordinates succumb to coronavirus

Already confined to a secret underground bunker for over a decade to prevent a possible assassination attempt inside Beirut, now Hassan Nasrallah is placed under quarantine, since many of his subordinates have been tested positive for the coronavirus.

Senior Hezbollah officials have been placed under quarantine after being infected with the coronavirus, Channel 13 reported. They may have been in contact with Iranian officials who also tested positive for the coronavirus.

JUNIPER COBRA 2020 Military Exercise Cancelled Over Coronavirus

Following Israel’s new Health Ministry guidelines on the Coronavirus threat, the JUNIPER COBRA Exercise scheduled for the American and Israeli militaries has been cancelled.

A joint exercise between the American and Israeli militaries has been cancelled due to concern over the novel Coronavirus.

The JUNIPER COBRA Exercise was scheduled to begin this week and last through March 13. Over 600 troops from the US European Command were scheduled to arrive from Germany and the United States.

A dozen Israeli passengers quarantined on coronavirus-hit cruise ship off Japan

10 confirmed cases of the coronavirus on board the Carnival Corp. cruise ship, Diamond Princess, forced health officials to quarantine the ship, requiring all passengers confined to their cabins, including the 15-17 Israelis according to Israel’s Foreign Ministry.

Around 3,700 people are facing at least two weeks locked away on a cruise liner anchored off Japan, after health officials confirmed on Wednesday that 10 people on the ship had tested positive for coronavirus and more cases were possible.
