UNRWA staffers accused of widespread anti-Semitic posts with impunity

Amid scandalous accusations of top UNRWA officials with “sexual misconduct and abuses of authority for personal gain,” now, according to a UN Watch report, staff members & teachers have shared antisemitic posts on social media for years without fear of repercussion.

UNRWA staff members, including teachers regularly share antisemitic and pro-terrorism content on social media and face no consequences, according to NGO UN Watch.

UNRWA needs $1.2 Billion for another year of covering Palestinian costs

No longer receiving aid from the US, the UN agency that provides food, education & health care exclusively for Palestinian refugees is asking donors to fill in the missing $446 million it lacks.
– President Trump said in January 2018 that Palestinian leaders must return to peace talks if they want to receive US aid money.
– The European Union has replaced the US as leading donor to UNRWA.

REPORT: Israel moves to deduct funds to Palestinians equal to its ‘Pay to Slay’

Because Israel views the Palestinian government’s refusal to end the monthly ‘Pay to Slay’ payments to terrorists and their families as evidence of the PA’s continued support for terrorism against the Jewish State, Israel’s Knesset passed a law requiring a decrease in tax transfers to the PA until the payments have stopped.

Israel’s government is said to be determining the scope of cuts to tax revenues it collects for the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank, just days after the official end to United States support for the PA’s security services.

Israel Hayom newspaper reported on Sunday night that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet will likely approve a deduction in tax revenues relative to the amounts the PA allocates for stipends given to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli custody. Continue Reading »

Swiss FM mulls continued funding of UNRWA, ‘part of the problem’

Switzerland’s new foreign minister said UNRWA “worked as a solution for a long time, but today it has become part of the problem.” Adding that, “it provides ammunition to continue the conflict.”

Switzerland’s new foreign minister Ignazio Cassis on Wednesday questioned the role of the United Nations refugee agency agency for Palestinians and its ability to assist its beneficiaries, casting doubt on whether the Swiss government would continue funding the organization.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), was established after the war surrounding Israel’s creation in 1948, when around 700,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled.

Switzerland’s new foreign minister Ignazio Cassis said, ‘UNRWA is part of the problem in the Middle East.’

Hamas closes Gaza Hospital amid US fund cuts – PA official rejects excuse

Claiming it has run out of diesel fuel required for electricity producing generators, Hamas orders a hospital in northern Gaza to end operations.
– Abbas’ Palestinian Authority rejects Hamas’ claims, drawing attention to the funds recently transferred to Gaza specifically for the purchase of more diesel to keep the generators going.
– In the meantime, UNRWA organizes a march for its workers and Gaza residents to protest against the United States’ decision to withhold some funding until Palestinian leadership agrees to engage in Peace Talks.
