By Ryan Jones

In 2006 legislative elections, the Palestinian street overwhelmingly voted Hamas to counter rampant financial corruption in the Palestinian Authority. Now, after years of war-profiteering, it seems Hamas itself has become the premier Palestinian millionaires’ club.

Gaza’s millionaire members

Very soon after seizing control of the Gaza Strip in 2007, Hamas and its allies began escalating rocket fire against the Jewish state. Given the severity of the Israeli reprisals, that wouldn’t seem very good for business.

Hundreds of ‘Lefty Brits’ protest BBC’s ‘pro-Israel’ coverage of #OperationProtectiveEdge

British leftists protest broadcaster’s idea of balance, ‘airbrushing’ out Israel’s preexisting military control of Gaza, and the imbalance of power between the sides.

The BBC is widely believed in Israel to be biased in favor of the Palestinians. Yet in Britain, which can fairly be called the nerve center of Western pro-Palestinian sentiment, hundreds of left-wingers have protested in recent days over what they call the state broadcaster’s pro-Israel bias in its coverage of the fighting with Gaza.

Anti-Israel protests going violent & viral in Europe & the U.S.

The pro-Palestinian narrative has become more vicious” with chants that say “Death to Israel” and signs that refer to Jews, not Israelis.

Fallout from the hostilities between Israel and Hamas is spreading across Europe and the United States. Protests about the conflict have flared up, much like they did during past battles, increasingly turning confrontational, notably in the United States, Israel’s staunchest ally.

Although the violence from Palestinian supporters at pro-Israel rallies in Los Angeles and Boston has not approached the seriousness of recent incidents in Paris and Berlin, many community leaders on both sides have noted an upswing in the level of vitriol and frustration reflected in the rhetoric emanating from the pro-Palestinian camp.

Israel must continue its weapons blockade on Gaza

Hamas has proven it’s gov’t ignores the indiscriminate firing of lethal missiles on civilian cities, so, after a ceasefire Jerusalem must maintain a forceful blockade to prevent the replacement of advanced rockets, like those being fired this past week on Israel’s civilians.

Whenever the current conflict in Gaza ends, and whatever the terms of any cease-fire, Israel will have to maintain its weapons’ siege against Gaza.
