London’s Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reports the Gaza gov’t is trying to curb radicals’ terror activities fearing Israeli retaliations

Hamas government in Gaza Strip has ordered its security forces to crackdown on the Salafi groups operating in the Strip, the London-based Arab newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported Saturday.

The order reportedly followed the recent increase in rocket fire on Israel, which Hamas fears may lead to a wide-scale Israeli operation in the area.

IAF Strikes Back at Terror Targets in Gaza

IAF aircraft hit 2 centers of terrorist activity in Northern Gaza in response to a rocket that hit a home in Sderot yesterday.

IAF aircraft struck two centers of terrorist activity in northern Gaza on Friday night, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported.

The statement said that direct hits were identified and all aircraft returned safely to their bases.

The attack came in response to high trajectory fire into Israeli territory, said the statement.

“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who uses terror against Israel,” said the statement, adding that the “Hamas terrorist organization” is responsible for any terror activities which are launched from Gaza. Sderot Home Hit By Gaza Rocket

DIRECT HIT! Woman from Sderot suffers shock after terrorists fire a rocket and hits her home.

Residents of the city of Sderot reported hearing the “Red Alert” siren twice on Friday morning.

Shortly afterwards, a rocket fired by terrorists from Hamas-controlled Gaza hit a home in the city. One woman suffered from shock and the home sustained minor damage.

A second rocket exploded in an open area of the Shaar HaNegev Regional Council.

On Thursday evening, a rocket launched by terrorists in Gaza exploded in an open area of the Ashkelon Coast Council region.

Hamas reports Egypt reopens Rafah crossing into Gaza

Hamas spokesman: Egypt informed Gaza gov’t that their border crossing, which has been closed for much of the past month, will be opened permanently.

Egypt has reopened the Rafah border crossing with Gaza on Saturday.

The crossing is a lifeline for Gazans, which had been closed for much of the month since an August 5 attack on Egyptian guards, Palestinian and Egyptian security sources said.

The move signals a step forward in relations between Egypt’s new government led by President Mohammed Morsi and Gaza’s Islamist rulers Hamas, which had deteriorated since the attack in which gunmen killed 16 Egyptian soldiers on the Israeli border.

PA Electric Company: Theft is leading Us to Bankruptcy

The Palestinian Authority Electric Company intimidated by  “refugee camp” residents.

 

 

The Palestinian Authority Electric Company has complained that theft is driving it bankrupt. The company owes the Israel Electric Company 423 million shekels, largely due to 550 million shekels of unpaid bills from its customers.

Electric Company officials called a press conference urging PA leaders to stop the theft, and require those living in “refugee camp” neighborhoods to pay their bills. Workers are afraid to go into the notoriously violent “camp” neighborhoods to collect, they said.

Gazan Terrorists Testing new Rockets by firing into Sinai, Israeli Sources Say

Israelis say there is evidence that Egypt’s northern Sinai region has become a testing range for Gaza’s rocket builders.

Israeli sources told Reuters on Friday there is evidence that Egypt’s north Sinai region is becoming not only a rallying point for terrorists but a firing range for Gaza’s rocket builders.

It was soon after the 2011 revolt in Egypt toppled President Hosni Mubarak that Israeli rocket radars began to spot unusual launches from the Gaza, the report noted.

While the rockets normally towards Israeli border towns, or north towards coastal cities, some are now aimed at the empty desert wastes of Sinai. Continue Reading »

Egypt requests extradition of 3 Hamas terrorists for Sinai attack

East Jerusalem newspaper al-Quds reports: Demands made to PM Haniyeh to turn over three militants that provided support to radical groups in Sinai

Egyptian intelligence made a request to Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, using senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar as an intermediary, to extradite members of  the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ paramilitary wing, according to an al-Quds newspaper report on Thursday.

According to initial reports, the attack was a surgical strike against a member of the Popular Resistance Committees militant organization.

No Injuries after IDF Force Attacked by Gaza Mortars

Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists fired five mortar shells on Monday afternoon at an IDF force that was operating near the Kissufim crossing in central Gaza.

The IDF Spokesman said that there were no physical injuries or damage. The soldiers fired shots towards suspicious areas after the attack.

Two conversions that a Christian family says were forced have strained relations between a tiny Palestinian Christian community in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip and the Muslim majority.
