German media reports Israeli aircraft fires missile at target in Syria

Contrary to a Hizbollah report attributing an explosion in Syria to al-Qaeda, German media quoted a Syrian security official who said an Israeli jet fired on positions in the Syrian Golan Wednesday, killing one and injuring others.

An Israeli jet launched missiles at a military checkpost in the Quneitra Governoratein the Golan on Wednesday morning, according to a senior Syrian security official quoted by a German news agency.

An official from the opposition uploaded to the internet this picture of smoke rising from a building in Quneitra, Syria seemingly damaged by the alleged attack.

The report claimed that the attack resulted in the death of a civilian who crossed the border by mistake and the wounding of three more Syrian soldiers. Continue Reading »

The Syrian website ‘Zaman Al Wasl,’ which identifies with the opposition forces, quoted a military official from the Syrian regime who claimed that the Israel Air Force had carried out an airstrike against military targets close to a village 13 kilometers north of Homs.

According to the claims, the attack took place two days ago after midnight during which the IAF took out Hezbollah weapons caches in areas also containing antennas for Syrian radar systems, in addition to an air defense battalion that secures the area. Continue Reading »

Syrian media: Israeli jets attacked Syrian targets over weekend

Uncorroborated media reports originating in Syria have IAF jets attacking targets near the embattled city of Homs.

Israeli jets attacked a target in Syria over the past weekend, Syrian media reported Tuesday.

The attack took place near the embattled city of Homs, the report continued.

The report added that Syrian defense systems identified the Israeli aircraft within their airspace but refrained from firing.

UPDATED: Israel jets eliminated Hezbollah general, murderer of former Lebanese PM

Arab media reports that Mustafa Badr al-Din, Hezbollah’s top military commander and leading suspect in the assassination of former Lebanese PM Rafik Hariri, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Damascus.

Arab media reported overnight Thursday that Mustafa Badr al-Din, Hezbollah’s military commander, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a Hezbollah facility in Damascus.

The IDF has not responded to the reports, which were published in Al Mayadeen, Al-Arabiya, the Iranian Al-Alam and the Lebanese Daily Star.

Badr al-Din is considered the successor of senior Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, who was assassinated in 2008, also allegedly by Israel.

Arab Repots: Israeli fighter jets strike hit Hezbollah arms convoy headed to Lebanon

Israel’s TV2 cites Arab media reporting IAF strikes on the Syrian-Lebanese border that had direct hits on a number of vital Hezbollah positions.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck a weapons convoy headed into the hands of Hezbollah fighters in Syria, Channel 2 citing Arab media sources reported Tuesday.

The attack allegedly occurred on the Syrian-Lebanese border earlier in the afternoon and struck a number of vital positions important to the terror organization.

Channel 2 added that the Israeli Air Force struck the weapons convoy near a Syrian “rebel safe-haven” where Hezbollah militants were allegedly stationed.

UK reports: Israel strikes Syrian army positions outside Damascus

According to The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based organization, Syrian army outposts south of Damascus were hit by three Israeli rockets.

Israel struck several Syrian army targets south of Damascus Wednesday evening, the Observatory for Human Rights said.

According to the Britain-based Observatory, three Israeli missiles caused property damage but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

A Pro-Assad military source however, denied reports of strikes coming from Israel, said Reuters.

Hezbollah Denies Reports of IAF Strike On Syrian Missile Bases

Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV denied Syrian media reports that IAF jets attacked 2 targets on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

Syrian media reports claim that the Israeli Air Force on Monday night bombed a Syrian army ballistic missile base, as well as a Hezbollah military base on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

According to the reports, the alleged strike took place in the town of Qutayfah, located in the eastern region of the Qalamoun Mountains, close to Syria’s border with Lebanon.

However, Hezbollah’s TV channel, al-Manar, denied the reports and claimed that “Israel did not launch attacks against bases of the Syrian army and the Resistance in the region of Qutayfah.”

Analyst: Russia knew in advance of Kuntar airstrike inside Syria

Without Russian assurances to ignore foreign jets inside protected airspace, Israel would not have committed to ‘low-priority’ mission, says IMRA.

Israel notified Russia that it intends to strike a target inside Damascus before the airstrike that killed Samir Kuntar, estimates Dr. Aaron Lerner, of Independent Media Review Analysis (IMRA).

Lerner bases this conclusion on the fact that the strike took place at a time that the Russian S-400 system is in full operation.

Arab media reports on Saturday night claimed that Israeli rocket fire destroyed a building in the Jaramana district of Damascus.

According to Russia Today, Hezbollah-linked terrorist Samir Kuntar was the target of the strike and was reportedly killed.

Images from the scene show a collapsed multi-story residential building, with lots of rubble on the ground. Vehicles parked nearby appear to have been completely destroyed, the Russian news agency reported.
