Former Syrian General tells Europeans: Hezbollah has Chemical Weapons

According to General al-Saqit, in Paris he warned European government representatives that, “The Syrian army and the militias supporting it carry out daily attacks on the [civilian] population, which uses chlorine gas. Only yesterday there was such an attack.”



Iran is building and testing short- to medium-range missiles armed with chemical warheads in Syria, former Syrian general Zuhair al-Saqit told [The Jerusalem Post‘s sister publication] Maariv. Al-Saqit, who heads the Center for the Detection and Monitoring of the Use of Chemical Weapons in Belgium, also said that Iran’s Lebanon-based proxy Hezbollah is in possession of chemical weapons, mostly handed to it by the Assad regime in order to hide their existence from international monitors. A senior Israeli security source revealed on Tuesday that Iran is smuggling rockets souped-up with advanced guided warheads to its terror proxy of Hezbollah in Lebanon, posing a direct threat to the Jewish state of Israel from right over its northern border.

Col. Aviram Hasson, a leader in the IDF’s top-level missile defenses, brought up the threat at the Israel Air and Missile Defense Conference held in Herzliya, an event hosted by the iHLS (Israel’s homeland security) defense website and the Israel Missile Defense Association.

7 IDF soldiers Injured After IDF Vehicle Hit by Hezbollah Antitank Missile

An antitank missile has been fired at an IDF vehicle from the Har Dov area (Shebaa Farms) in a Hezbollah ambush Wednesday morning, and there are reportedly seven casualties, who are receiving treatment.

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the attack, through journalist Rassan Ben Jiddo, who is close to the terrorist militia.

ZAKA emergency services initially said that three people were hurt.

The IDF spokesman said that an antitank missile was fired at an IDF vehicle that was moving along the border.

Iran supplied Hezbollah with missiles capable of reaching the nuclear reactor in Dimona, semi-official Fars News Agency reported. The Fateh (Conqueror) model missile – carrying a 500 kilogram warhead and flying at up to 4,500 kph – has a range of 250 to 350 kilometers.
