Israel PM accuses Hamas of double war crime, should be held responsible for civilian deaths in Gaza

PM Netanyahu says Hamas is committing war crimes of intentionally targeting Israeli civilians with their rockets, and again using the local Gaza population as human shields to protect the terrorists.

 

 

As Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas mulls applying for membership in the International Criminal Court as a way to press charges against Israel for alleged war crimes, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told UN Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon and other world leaders on Wednesday that Hamas was guilty of two types of war crimes.

Palestinian president convene leadership to sign request to join International Criminal Court

Palestinian president seeks to sign documents necessary for joining int’l organizations to ‘protect the people in Gaza’ by all diplomatic & legal means.

 

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will convene the Palestinian leadership at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday at his bureau, during which he expected to sign the necessary documents for joining international organizations. Inter alia, he has requested to join the International Criminal Court in The Hague, a senior official told Haaretz.

“What is happening in the Gaza Strip is a war crime, and it is the right of the Palestinian leadership to protect the Palestinian people in Gaza with every diplomatic means and its jurists,” the official said.

Former Palestinian Authority (PA) Chief Negotiator Saeb Erekat slammed PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s “soft” policies in the new “unity” government with Hamas, according to tapes leaked by the Awrak news agency.

In the tapes, Erekat makes a series of furious remarks over Abbas’s decisions, saying that Abbas views the government as his “personal property.” According to Erekat, Abbas rejected a PLO majority vote Wednesday night that would have seen the PA turn to the International Criminal Court over Israel’s actions over the past several days.
