EU Favors Labelling of ‘Settlement Products’

Report: EU foreign ministers support efforts to label products from Judea, Samaria & ‘East-Jerusalem’.

EU foreign ministers, among them Britain’s William Hague and Laurent Fabius of France, have said they will back EU efforts to label products from Israeli communities in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem, according to a letter obtained by AFP on Friday.

“We warmly welcome your commitment to work with fellow commissioners to prepare EU-wide guidelines on the labelling of settlement produce,” said the letter by 13 ministers, addressed to EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and dated April 12.

“This is an important step to ensure correct and coherent application of EU consumer protection and labelling legislation, which is in fulfillment of our previous commitments and is fully consistent with long-standing EU policy in relation to Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories,” the letter said, according to AFP. Report: Obama Wants Timetable of IDF Withdrawal from Judea & Samaria

Unconfirmed Israeli sources report says Obama wants a detailed Israeli withdrawal plan from Netanyahu during his visit to Israel.

U.S. President Barack Obama has demanded a timetable for an Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria, according to an unconfirmed report by World Tribune.

The report quotes anonymous “Israeli sources.”

According to the report, Obama, who is scheduled to arrive in Israel on March 20, wants Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to present him with a detailed Israeli withdrawal plan during his visit to Israel. Let me do and I understand.” This quote served as the core of the message that was imparted to participants of a “foreign media workshop” held two weeks ago at the main visiting hall of the Binyamin regional council.

Women Drivers Escape Terrorist Ambush

Jewish women drivers escaped  Palestinian Authority gang’s carjacking attempts.

Palestinian Authority resident criminal gangs continue to target Israeli drivers for theft, and women traveling alone in particular. Two women escaped attempted carjackings at the last minute on Monday evening.

The two told Arutz Sheva their stories.

“At around 9 p.m. I passed through the Hizme junction on my way home, and suddenly I lost control of the car,” one recalled. “There was something on the road that made the car slip sideways.”

The Civil Authority and the IDF has cleared out 20,000 cubic tons of trash from an illegal Arab dump in Samaria, after ongoing appeals from an environmental organization. The Yarok Achshav (“Green Now”) group expressed its satisfaction at the resolution of the issue, preventing further damage to the environment by Arabs in the area.

Terrorist apprehended in West Bank, including 2 Hamas MPs

IDF special forces conduct overnight sweep in major Palestinian cities in Judea & Samaria; 9 Hamas legislators among the 25 Palestinians taken in for questioning

Palestinian sources reported Monday that Israeli security forces conducted an overnight sweep in the West Bank, arresting 25 Palestinians including nine senior members of Hamas.

PFLPIDF forces arrested nine of the Islamist movement’s members in Nablus and two of its parliament members – Hatem Qafisheh and Mohammed al-Tal in Hebron.

Hamas MP Ahmed Atun was detained in Ramallah and another MP was arrested in the West Bank city of Qalqilya.

Israel’s Shin Bet Reports it Prevented 100 ‘Serious’ Terror Attacks in 2012

For the 1st time in 4 decades, 2012 saw no Israelis killed in terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria. BUT, despite the lack of deaths in Judea and Samaria, there was an increase in the number of attacks there.

Israel’s domestic spy agency, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), says it thwarted 100 “serious” terror attacks in 2012, of which a third were planned kidnappings, the agency revealed in a report published Thursday. The Shin Bet said it arrested 2,300 terror suspects, which led to 2,170 indictments.

On Wednesday night, the Israel Defense Forces, in cooperation with the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), the Israel Police and the Border Police, launched a large arrest operation in Judea and Samaria,

“In light of the rise in violent incidents and terrorism in Judea and Samaria in recent days, and as part of an effort by security forces to restore quiet to the area, it was decided to initiate an arrest operation,” the IDF said in a statement.

Arabs called for Israel’s annihilation in 1967, and Israel legitimately seized the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria in self-defense.
