Israel believes the Lebanese Shi’ite guerrillas also stand ready to retaliate if it carries out long-threatened strikes on the nuclear sites of Iran, another Hezbollah patron.

Hezbollah fought Israel’s far more advanced forces to a standstill when they last came to blows, in 2006, and rained more than 4,000 rockets on northern Israel.

Hezbollah moves into villages of Southern Lebanon

Analysis: The Hezbollah terror group is storing rocket cashes in private homes it sold to poor Shiite families at rock-bottom prices

Part one of analysis by Ron Ben-Yishai

During a cold winter’s day in late January on the Biranit mountain range, which overlooks south Lebanon, I noticed that dozens, if not hundreds of new buildings had been built in Bint Jbeil, Maroun al-Ras, Aita al-Shaab and Barmish. There is almost no remnant of the devastation the region sustained during the Second Lebanon War, and even without binoculars it was evident that the Shiite communities have expanded significantly compared with the few Christian-Maronite villages in the area, which remained the same size, more or less. Arabs…Learn from Israel!

Lebanese journalist explains how Israel’s ‘melting pot policy’ made it strongest country in the Mideast

By Talal Salman

BEIRUT – I assume many people throughout the Arab world were glued to their television sets as the results of the Israeli elections were being reported and analyzed the “democratic process” that unfolded. In my opinion, the event underscored the dismal situation of the Arab nations compared to the “Jewish ethnic groups” that gathered from all over the world to establish a Jewish state on Palestinian land.
