Sinai Terrorists say their group was target of Israeli drone strike

Sinai Al-Qaida-linked terrorist group Ansar Bayt Al-Maqdis, says 4 of its members were killed while preparing to fire rocket into Israel (cities).

Egyptian army reports no drone attack ever occurred.

 

 

An Al-Qaida-linked group active in the Sinai Peninsula said Saturday that its fighters were the target of a reported Israeli drone strike into Egyptian territory, a rare operation that could indicate increased Egyptian-Israeli security cooperation against militants in the lawless border zone.

Ansar Bayt Al-Maqdis, in a statement posted on a militant website, said that a Israel Defense Forces drone that crossed into Egyptian airspace killed four fighters as they were preparing a cross-border rocket strike into Israel. Continue Reading »

FOUND: Remains of rocket fired from Egypt last week

The rocket attack last Thursday had been the 1st to hit near Israel’s southern tourist city since a similar attack back in April.

Israeli troops found the remains on Tuesday of the first rocket to be fired from Egypt since the July 3 overthrow of the Islamist government there, a military official said.

Both Israelis and Egyptians reported hearing several explosions in the southern city of Eilat on Thursday, the day after President Mohammed Morsi was toppled from power in Egypt.

IDF Jets Retaliate Striking Terror Targets in Gaza

IDF aircraft hit several terror targets in Gaza in response to last night’s barrage of rocket on southern Israel.

IDF aircraft attacked several terror targets in Gaza early Monday morning, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.

The sites targeted include two weapons storage sites in central Gaza, as well as a rocket launching site and a center of terrorist activity in southern Gaza.

Direct hits were identified and all aircraft returned safely to their bases, said the IDF.

The statement noted that the airstrikes came in response to a barrage of rockets directed at southern Israel earlier Sunday night. Continue Reading »

Dozen of rockets fired from Syria but now Hezbollah stronghold in Lebanon hit

Lebanese officials say 16 rockets fired by Syrian rebels have struck eastern region of Baalbek, Lebanon for first time.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters, say the rockets caused a fire in fields without casualties.

The area that was struck is a stronghold of Lebanon‘s militant Hezbollah group that is fighting alongside Syrian President Bashar Assad‘s forces against rebels who are trying to remove him from power. Continue Reading »

Hezbollah claims responsibility for missile strike on Israel

Hezbollah took credit for the reported rocket attack, saying it had struck an ‘Israeli settlement’ in Northern Israel.

Lebanese media reported that a missile presumably fired by the Hezbollah terrorist militia landed in northern Israel late Sunday night. That report was backed up by resident of the Israeli border town of Metula, who spoke of a high-pitched whistle followed by a loud explosion.

Unknown Palestinian group claims it fired rockets onto Mount Hermon

The group said that it “attacked an observatory of the Zionist entity on the occupied Golan Heights with missiles on the anniversary of return, avenging the martyrs of return [who died] last year.”

 

JERUSALEM — A previously unknown Palestinian group took responsibility for two rockets that hit Mount Hermon, a popular Israeli tourist site in the Golan Heights.

The group, which calls itself the Abdul Qader Husseini Battalions of the Free Palestine movement, said in a statement issued Thursday that it fired the projectiles that struck Mount Hermon on Wednesday.

Two Rockets Fired at Israel by Gaza Terrorists

Terrorists from Hamas-controlled Gaza fired 2 rockets at southern Israel.

There were no injury or damage reported.

Terrorists from Hamas-controlled Gaza fired two rockets at southern Israel on Thursday evening.

The rockets exploded in an open area of the Eshkol Regional Council, causing no physical injuries or damages.

On Wednesday morning, the Color Red rocket alert siren blared throughout the city of Eilat shortly after 9 a.m. It is believed that terrorists fired three rockets at the city. No casualties were reported.

A spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces said the rocket fire had been traced to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, a region which has become a hotbed of terrorist activity since the fall in 2011 of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Continue Reading »
